Dear Natsu,

I am writing this letter as an apology to you. I let you down when I really needed to help you. I should have stayed, I should have told you. There's so many things you never knew. But first let me go back to the beginning, where it all started.

I just left the Heartfilia mansion and was on the lookout to join the Fairy Tail guild, you took me by storm the first time we met. Sure I was a little mad but I never regret going with you. We shared many memories from the time I joined the guild, fighting in the Everlue mansion, Tenrou Island, the Grand Magic Games and many more. As we went through each mission I could feel something pulsing inside my body, I didn't know then but I know now.

But these last few days I have been thinking about how last words affect people. The last words Simon spoke before he died, or the last words I spoke to you before you fought Zeref. I should have told you, I really should have. But we can't change the past and my future will still be bright. I know my life will be bright for you will be waiting. You keep me moving even though you can't be by my side. I have the family and friends if the guild. But there will always be a hole in my chest, all of the words that I should have said to you, all the feelings I should have shared. But deep down inside I know you felt the same way. That's why I'm writing this letter and why I'm telling you now. Natsu Dragneel, I love you. I have and always will.

Your best friend and wished to be girlfriend,

Luce Heartfillia.

I folded the letter and placed it in a white envelope, sealing it and grabbing my coat and umbrella. Walking outside into the cold rainy weather, I trudge through the mud to the back of the guild. Walking for a little, I finally come to my destination. I place the letter next to the tombstone that reads 'Natsu Dragneel. Beloved friend and family' I quietly sob and open the letter and read it to the gravestone. After I finish my face is red and streaked with tears and my hands are shaking. Digging a little hole in the fresh patch of dirt, I place the letter in and cover the hole. With shaky legs I stand up and head back into the guild hall.
