The forgoten vault

The vault is my home. Why would I leave? There's food, water, and my friends and family.

A vault is a deep underground shelter that is made to house and keep people safe from the Great War and the outside world after that! Even though they were made for people to be safe; some are used for cruel or unusual experiments! The company who makes the vaults are named vault tech.

My family was lucky enough to score a spot in a vault! This vault is named vault 52, or nicknamed the forgotten vault by the residents here! From the vault tech data bases we know every thing about 100 vaults made! Different things have gone wrong or certain things have gone right! One vault was experimented on with an FEV virus! Many of the patients mutated and exacted the vault to ravage hell on the surface, the others were trapped or killed in the vault! But every thing on vault 52 is not there! The count literally skips vault 52! what do they have planned... if they remember us!

I hear Amada my Girl friend out side my door "jack! You ok in there?"

"Yeah. I'm fine!" I reply

I press the button to open the sliding mechanical door. "Come in babe"

Amada has blood red hair and her skin resembles the pictures of snow iv seen in class. She steps in in her standard blue leather vault 52 jumpsuit!

"I'll be right back Amada. I need to so my hair."I say

"Please! Your hair looks like a mutant attacked it!" Amada teases

I walk into my bathroom and the door slides down behind me. I stare at my blue gray eyes for a minute lost in thought until Amanda's voice reminds me what I'm suppose to do. I start to wrestle with my tangled brown hair until it looks less like an explosion happened in it.

"Ready?" Amada asks

"Ready!" I reply

It's early morning and we make are way down to the atrium were we proceed to the cafeteria. We order out breakfast French toast for me and pancakes for Amada. We find a place next to my best friend ferret! We don't really know his real name he just says his names ferret! He is blond and has big blue eyes. His also has a scar on the side of his face! He is the only person we no of from outside the vault! He was left outside the big rolling doors and the security cameras saw him. He was adopted by the overseer; The overseer is the leader of the vault.

"What's up guys?" Ferret asks

"Nothin were just eating until school opens. What about you?" I reply

"Same pretty much. Hey Amada how's Ron?"

Ron is Amanda's pet cockroach that was mutated by the radiation of the Great War!

"Idk he doesn't look very good. I think he might be sick." Says Amada

"Yeah I was gonna ask cause I saw him pushing around his food. Usually he swallows everything and even his bowl within a few seconds." I added

"You think he's---" she was cut off from the bell signaling schools start.

"By Amada see you at lunch!" I kiss her good bye

Ferret and I walk to are science class and take are seats next to eachother.

"Do we have a test today?" Ferret whispers.

"Yeah, I think we do. You didn't study did you?" I reply.

"Haha. I never study!"

"Well it's nuclear physics! It shouldn't be hard."

"Oh yeah right" ferret says sarcastically!

The teacher hands the test out, and I'm completely confident that I will ace this test! I finish and I wait for everyone els to when the overseers voice starts to come out of the emergency speakers. There have been many drills with a pre recorded voice that's put over the speeders but this voice is different!

"This is not a drill! Every one please move to your assigned dorms in the living area! I repeat this is not a drill..."

The recording keeps going on. Ferret caches my eye and knows exactly what I'm gonna do.

"Jack! She will be ok. Listen to the overseer jack!"

"No! I have to find her! Come with me and help. She will probably be in literacy about now."

Before ferret has time to reply I am already bolting down the filled hallway heading towards a the literacy rooms!

"AMADA!! AMADA!!" I tell into the crowd!

"OVER HERE!!"

I turn towards the voice and i faintly see the hint of read being swallowed by the crowed! I literally swim through the crowed In Her direction! Until I find her and pull her to the side! I hug her so tight I don't think she can breath!

"Jack! I'm ok. I'm ok babe. Haha you saved me."

"I need to get you out if here!"

"Can I go to your dorm? My parents kicked me out again!"

"Sure I don't think my dad will mind"

We start to flow with the crowed pushing toward section B were I live! I see ferret crawling up a pole and looks out in the crowd until he finds us waves and joins us on are struggle.we break into my room when we find my dad dead on the floor. I didn't know what to do I just sat there and stares while ferret and Amada were trying to get a response out of me!

I just stare at my fathered lifeless body when I'm snapped back to reality with gun fire! No it's not gun fire, it's lazers! The heavy weapons we have in the armory shoot pure lazers! Why would they be using those?

I am pulled into my bathroom were Amada ferret and I sit until what ever is happening passes!
