Just friends

"Savannah, are you ready yet?" My moms yells from across the house which is usual for a school day morning.

I groan "yesss mom I'm coming!" I answer back to her.

I grab my bag and head out the door. I guess you could say I'm excited for the first day of 6th grade, I mean yes I'm going to miss sleeping in, but I've missed my friends so much over the summer and I can't wait to meet new people.

My mom quickly pulls into the parking lot so she could get to her new job. I gave her a hug as she wishes me luck and I head out the door.

Boca middle school is large and immediately I hear two familiar voices calling my name. I turned around to see my two best friends, Leah and Alexis.

We ran to each other and did a ginormous hug "I missed you guys so much" I say to them.

All three of us walked in where kids were running around everywhere and talking.

"Joey!" Alexis went to a bunch of her guy friends saying hi to everyone. Geez Alexis is pretty popular.

When the first bell rang we all had to go to our classes and unfortionatley Leah and Alexis didn't have the same first period as me so we had to go our separate ways.

"We'll see you later" Alexis waves to me as they both walk off.

I took a look at my schedule.

First period: Science- Ms.Gigi

When I walked in the lady made us all stand up and she told us that we would have to be having assigned seats.

Great.

I eyed my friend Nicole she smiled at me. Hopefully I'd get to sit by her I didn't know much people in this class oh and I forgot to mention, I HATE science and probably always will. I'm terrible at it and there's really no other reason, I just really don't understand anything about it.

"You and You, first row" my teacher said while pointing exactly where she wanted her students to sit.

"Hmm and you can go sit in the second row" she points to Nicole. Nicole goes to sit and there's one more seat aside from her, please let me sit there!

Ms.Gigi scans the group of kids passing me. I was literally on my tip toes trying to get her to notice me and pick me.

She looks past me and points her finger to me. "And you sit right beside her"

Yes!

And quickly started to make my way to the seat when Ms.Gigi says "no dear not you the boy that was behind you."

What. I swear she picked me. And now I look like a fool in front of the whole class. Whatever.

"Oh" I say and just go back to wear I was standing I heard a few giggles but I don't even care.

Ms.Gigi didn't call on me till there was only the back row left. She finally points to me and says "you can sit on the last seat in the back row."

I didn't even wanna question it. What made me think I'd be able to sit with my one friend in this class anyways?

I got my bag and walked towards the seat.

"Oh and while you're at it, you can spit out that gum young lady" she says.

Crap. This is a good start

"Sorry Ms.Gigi" I apologized and followed her instructions. Before she could say anything else I quickly walked to my seat in the back and sat down. The desks were grouped in toes and she puts me in the way back.
