When the school bell rang I felt delighted. I rarely got to see my friends, most were not at lunch because they had to do track. So I sat beside Taylor. And Taylor kept looking at me. But I knew if she said anything to me, Peppi would start making jokes about Taylor talking to "the slow one" How rude. Because I have a disease in my knee and can't run fast that's my nickname.
Well, I walked home with Gabi. I hated today, Claire dropped her paint on me in art, and she started crying and when Claire cries you can't help but forgive her. But Gabi said something I never thought she would say.
"Char?" Gabi said, kicking rocks as she walked. "Yes?" I asked. What was she going to say now?
"I-i-i... like you."
I laughed. Of course she did. We were best friends.
"I know, Gabi, it's obvious." Gabi's face turned red.
"No, like not in a friend way, but like I like you as a friend.. but I also like you like, like like you."
Oh my god, she said like so many times it looks weird just looking at like.
"ooooooooooooh." I was stupid. I mean, I had lots of girls have a crush on me, but I could tell Gabi was embarrassed to say so.
"Bye." Gab said, I realized we were already at her house. Awkward much.
"Yeah, bye." I said, and continued walking. Did I like her too?

"VIOLET I HAVE THE BEST IDEA EVERRRRRR" I said as soon as she opened the door. Violet just stared. "What is it." She asked, like it wasn't even a question.
Violet and I sat on the monkey bars and discussed the idea. We also made up. Her eyes lit up. "That's a great idea! We can kind of form a club, but would we really have to invite Peppi and Lydia?" She scrunched up her nose.
I sighed. Everyone didn't like their attitude but if we wanted to help figure out whats going on, it might be our only shot. "I talked to Austin, and he wanted to help too, so maybe we can all meet up after school, and kind of sort it out before inviting everyone to help us."
Violet nodded. "I'm sure August would like to help too." Perfect! This was going great. We decided tomorrow after school would be the meeting. I had gotten Austin's number and texted him. He came as soon as possible. "Hey Austin!" Violet said from the monkey bars. Austin looked up. "Hi." Violet turned to me. "August didn't want to come. So I got Sara!" I was disappointed, but atleast Sara was gonna help us. Sara joined us after 5 minutes. I explained my idea to them. My idea was to help raise money for the people who got infected by the disease going around, which I named, Peanut butter, because it spread so quickly. Violet was going to have something to do with horoscopes, and to find out your horoscope you would pay. We would have to talk to the principal, because this would all be set up at the school fair. Austin looked happy. "That's a great idea! But, what will you do if the principal doesn't agree?" I didn't think about that. "I know!" Sara perked up. "We could set up a booth at the festival that happens in April! They love activities set up for families to enjoy." Soon, we all shot out ideas. "Instead of paying to find out your horoscope, why don't we have a horoscope game?" Eventually, we all agreed on something and high-fived.
As we walked back home, I asked Sara where August was. "Oh, about that... August has been acting strange. It started when she got home from school, she said it was just homework, but I think she's depressed or something." Sara said, shrugging her arms. August was happy today, but all of the sudden she's depressed? That's what Sara thought though. August might of had a bad day. But she would have to help us with the fundraiser. Sara can't because she isn't at our school. I walked home with Violet for the rest of the way, and ended up walking by myself since Violet went home. I started thinking about ideas for the booth we would set up. What kind of horoscope game would people actually pay for? Maybe a horoscope maze. I opened the door to my house and told my mom about my idea. She suggested telling Nina. Yes, Nina, of course. She would love to help out. I tapped Nina's number in on my phone and it rang for a while.
"Hello?" I asked, waiting and hoping Nina would answer. Instead I got a elderly voice. "Who is this?" Did I call the wrong number? "Um, no one. Wrong number. Bye." I hung up ASAP. How weird. That was Nina's phone number, wasn't it? Maybe she lost her phone again. But that voice sounded familiar. A million thoughts were running through my head.
