"You want to be noticed, right? To be accepted and to be loved by those around you, correct? Well then, put all your trust in me. I can help you. I can help you achieve to greatness. All you have to do... Is sign right on the dotted line."

A young teenage girl, no older than sixteen, woke up in a cold sweat. She grasped her chest, trying to catch her breath. She glanced around her room, unable to see anything near her. No lights were on, and not one sound could be heard as the darkness of the night danced around her.

Finally taking a deep breath and calming herself, she looked over at her clock. It was five past one in the morning. It was time for her to take her leave. With that in mind, she rolled off from her bed, and turned on a small lamp that stood on her desk. When the light dimly shined through the room, she got up to exchange the light tank top she wore for a thick hoodie, and put on some sweatpants to keep her lower half warm. Once fully dressed, she went over to her closet, where she had a small bookbag waiting for her filled with clothes and a few toiletries.

Resting the not so heavy bag over her shoulders, she put on some shoes, then made silently made her way out of her room. Making her way down the hall of her small home, she passed her mother's room, where light snoring could be heard. She thought for a moment, on whether or not she should wake the woman up. Would there be anything to say after what had happened just a few nights ago?

"Don't," a deep male voice rang through her fragile eardrums, "You'll see her again. For now, keep moving."

Chewing her bottom lip, the girl nodded, then proceeded downstairs towards the living room.

The rest of the house was as dark as her room was, though the girl's eyes had adjusted to the lack of light, but she was still careful not to tip anything over, or not to trip over anything. She didn't want to make too much noise and wake her sleeping mother up.

She reached the front door, and just stood there for a good minute. She wondered, was this really a good idea? It seemed like one when it was first thought out, but now... Not so much.

"Don't back down on our deal now, girl."

She gasped, and quickly turned around only to be face to face with the one who filled this idea of running away in her head in the first place.

"Luicfer..."

His red eyes shone once she whispered his name. He ran his hand over his shiny black hair, and slicked it back over his head. "Surprised to see me?"

"Um, no... Not really." She answered honestly. "But, I just... I just don't know I should go through with this anymore."

Lucifer let out a deep sigh, but got down on one knee to get down on the girl's level, and put an arm around her.

"Listen to me," His tone was soft, yet there was a hint of annoyance lingering in it, "I know it's not easy to run away from a place you've been your whole life."

"Not even my whole life, more like a portion."

Lucifer cleared his throat. "Erm, yes well... This isn't an easy thing to do in general, but," he lifted his other hand, and from it, flames emitted, and soon after, so did a piece of paper, "this is something you have to do. You signed the contract, remember?"

"How could I forget?" The girl rolled her emerald eyes.

"Then why are you second guessing? Are you scared?"
