Swithelo: World domination

Chapter 2 - Ministry of Swithelo

There is a secret ministry meeting and I have to be there. I am going to be the host of the meeting of this small ministry of 5. Outside of this ministry, we could not be seen near each other because people will become suspicious of our acts. If Swithelo knew what we were up to, we would immediately be the most hated group. Therefore, to protect us and Swithelo, no one outside of this meeting will know about it.

Our leader's name is Mark, and he is a very tall and slender man, with half of his face covered by his long, brown beard and shady sunglasses. He makes all the decisions for Swithelo and hides the secret from the rest of Swithelo. That secret is that we are not alone. We have known this even before the ghost attacks began to get fatal, but if it was found out Swithelo will turn to calamity.

He's a very wealthy man and runs Swithelo's bank, obviously making the most money out of all of us, about M150,000 a day. He distributes his earnings through Swithelo, but people don't use his money as much as he hoped - the only use for it is for food and simple services. Instead, most people usually trade simpler things, such as livestock, between each other. They feel that they are really lucky and some think they're rich, but Swithelo doesn't have any builders or other specialities as such, so we are still very poor.

Buster is the man who controls our army. Many see him as the sort of king to our land, for he is the only one of us who are noticed outside this clan. He's bald and always wears shady glasses, for he has a large scar down his eye. Many think this was because of a bear, but it's from far worse than that. He's very bulky, and if you were to get on his bad side, he would be able to crush your skull with one hand. If you get on his good side, however, he is a total sweetheart.

Andrea controls the laws and regulations in our kingdom. She makes sure that nothing is unfair and is the main reason why we haven't been caught yet. She always makes speeches on new laws and people adore her, as she is always very fair and makes everyone pitch in to help us. If she says the wrong things and becomes too bias towards us, we'll become suspicious and eventually lose all our power. 

She is the most intelligent out of all of this group, as she is no ordinary person, more of an identity thief. She uses people's facial features and creates her own - you may see her with brown hair, bright cherry red glasses, with eyes as blue as a clear ocean, but the next day she will have pink hair and red eyes. No one knows this power, besides this group. She uses this as an advantage for hiding how devious she can be, by becoming an outlaw outside of the law. 

The final member goes by George, who is the anything minister. You can ask him to do anything and he will do it. He's very jolly and infects people with happiness, for he can help people when they're sick, dying, or even if they're completely fine, you'll be able to count on him.  You can always see him wearing green overalls and buttoned blue vest.

I manage all of the mail from the near kingdom of projectiles, as their leader, King Cannonade, likes to spread his anger out on us. He's a very aggressive leader, so it is like walking on thin ice to talk to him. One false move and our kingdom will crumble, far from a return. I believe that he sees how vulnerable we are, so he threatens Swithelo to give up money and valuables otherwise he will send a series of attacks to our kingdom. Last time, he sent a wave of huge boulders at Swithelo, so our whole town hid in the church of Swithelo two houses down from this building, which is the furthest building from the other kingdom. Many buildings were destroyed or had serious damage done to them.

"Welcome everyone to this meeting on day 72 of the year 304, as you all know my name is Venus and I'm hosting this meeting for today. Today, George isn't able to make the meeting due to being out on the field to receive the mail from the nearby kingdom." I began to say. 

"Why yes, may I bring up something on that topic?" Mark questioned. Before anyone could answer, he continued, "King Cannonade has brought up to us about the staff of power. It has gone missing, and he has suspicions that it is on our side of the river. To keep good relations with him, we must find the staff and bring it back to him as soon as possible. As we know, we have a private bridge to the left of Swithelo, through the dense forest. It will be quite a journey to make it to their kingdom and it might be quite dangerous, but to protect Swithelo we must do what we can. We shall go up there as soon as we find it and continue good relations."

"But Mark, we should keep it and give him a fake staff, he wouldn't know the difference, it's too powerful for him to use, he knows as soon as he uses it we will attack back. So we should bring him a fake staff." Andrea planned. As soon as Andrea brought this suggestion up, we all went silent for a few minutes before we all decided to agree and help her out.

"I will send him a mail saying we found it, and we will return it. From there, we will actually attempt to find the staff of power and use it against him." I brought up as a suggestion to the group. They enjoyed this idea and decided to go through with it. So everyone began to make plans for this betrayal; we are going to create a fake staff, go across the bridge to the left of Swithelo." 

"Well, it's a bit too late right now, as It seems like a storm is about to appear," Mark said. He definitely wasn't wrong. There haven't been many storms like this one in recent times, it seems to be quite destructive. Lightning was striking all over the place, and buildings outside sounded like they were being torn down from the lightning. Then, out the window, I saw that a barnyard fell over, onto the next building. "Buster, investigate that barn if any extra damage has formed, report it back" I instructed. 

A few minutes after Buster left to see the damage, he sprinted back to the building we were in and shouted out, "The possessed skull-headed bull has spawned and possessed the body of our farmer's cow! We should defeat it before it does more damage than last time!"

"There's no use, it's too powerful, nothing can stop it. If we had some stronger weapons than maybe we could, but with our situation, there's no use. Plus, it seems to be going into the dense forest, it won't get far unless it really knows what it was doing." Andrea stated. She was right because last time it appeared we couldn't even put a dent on him. "How about if we get the staff of power, we could try finding it now, right?" Buster suggested.

"But one problem - how would we know where it has been dropped? We don't even know if it's even here anyway." Mark spoke too soon. The ground shook as if a huge earthquake suddenly happened, and there was a huge beam through the dense forest, where we thought the bull was. A fireball lit up the forest, as the beam took to the sky. It caused the rain to stop, and it was suddenly beautiful weather again. "Well, that answers that question and brings another one. Instead of where it is, who is it with." Mark replied, astonished about the power. Legend has it that it can destroy towns with one swing if that's what the user desired. "Well the only thing we can do is find him, and he shall be Swithelo's new king," Andrea exclaimed. We all nodded because there was no other choice. With the staff, that person suddenly became one of the most powerful, and fearful people.
