It was already 5 in the afternoon, an hour after I left school.

After failing to give Marcus reasons on why I shouldn't go to Steph's house, he dropped me off at my house.

I went to room and quickly undressed myself and then went straight into the shower room, after 10 mins of 'scrubbadubadubbing' I finally got the towel i hung on the door knob and headed out of the bathroom to get dressed.

After getting dressed, I got my car keys and purse and headed towards the door.

The drive to Stephanie's house was boring, to say the least. Though she lived only 8 blocks away from mine, it felt as if it was multiplied by 3. That might be because i drove to slow, I was to caught up thinking of the right way to say it to her without hurting her feelings that I didn't notice that I was already infront of her house.

'Damn it, Marcus! Why do I have to do this!' I thought to myself.

Stephanie's house was a two-storey that had a zen design. Their lawn was newly-mowed. It was actually a beautiful house.

I got out of my car and started walking towards her front door. With shaky hands, I pressed the doorbell.
After a couple of seconds later, a woman opened the door who I recognized as Linda, Stephanie's mother. Linda and my mom went to college together.

"Why, Alicia, is that really you? You're all grown-up now." She gave me a friendly hug

"Hi Mrs. Carter, it's nice to see you too. I'm actually here to see Stephanie."

"Why don't you come inside" Linda offered

"I wont be staying long Mrs. Carter." I said politely

" okay wait here. I'll go call on her"
She left the door half opened as she went upstairs

A few moments later Stephanie appeared.

"Alicia, how are you?"

"I'm good."

"Well anyways, what brings you here?"

Ohh boy here it goes.
"Well Marcus sent me here to tell you that he's cancelling the date that you two were supposed to have."

"What?!"

"I'm sorry Steph, you know how he is."

"That was a bit vague."

"That was all he told me."

"Well I still have to finish my project, but I appreciate your effort coming here to inform me but please tell Marcus that he's a douchebag."

I laughed and waived her goodbye

It's been 3 hours after i got back home

I laid in my bed the entire time thinking of what cheryl and Marcus might be up to.

Moments later the doorbell rang

I rushed downstairs and peeked through the window and saw Cheryl. I opened the door to see a sobbing Cheryl, the Cheryl whom I was mad at but the Cheryl who is also my best friend.

"Cheryl, what happened? Where's Marcus?"

" Marcus? That Bastard! He ditched me."

"Did you try calling him?"

"All my calls went straight to voice mail. I thought he liked me."

"Cheryl, I warned you already of how much of a player he is. I've known him since we were kids."

"But I thought he felt something when we kissed."

"Damn it, Cheryl! Do you really think that one kiss could hold him down? even if he was your boyfriend I don't think that he would stop these things that he does. Just this afternoon I had to go to Steph's house because he also bailed on her."

"Wait what?"

"He drove me home after school."

"You do know that you're the only girl he's truthful to right?"

"Yes? Just a friendly advice, dont trust guys like him. They'll just break your heart. That is why up until now I've managed to stay single." I stated with a smug expression on my face.

"I don't know wether I should hate you for lecturing me or love you."

"Hate me of course."
Haha and this is how we became friends. Not.

I let her inside the house to have dinner with us. It was just me and my mom since my dad is on a business trip.
After dinner she hugged me and left.

This may sound a bit mean but I'm actually happy that he bailed on her, he's only using her to get under her pants. But Marcus isn't one to miss an opportunity to make out with girls, I wonder what happened to him.

That night I decided to call him.

Ring. Ring.
Strange, he usually doesn't miss a phone call since his phone is always in his pocket.

The following morning I decided to jog with my dog, Maxie, she's a japanese spitz.

After jogging for 30 mins, My muscles were already tense and I started to breath harder. So I stopped for a couple of minutes and sat on the side walk and drank some water from my jug. After feeling a bit refreshed, I jogged again but this time I was heading to Marcus' house. It still bothered me as to why he bailed on Cheryl. I mean come on, she is one of the prettiest girls in school.

I slowed down a bit because Maxie seemed exhausted from all the running we did, so we just walked. As I was walking I saw someone familiar.

Oh no.

Why is she here? Joanne Sutthers is back. She was the first person that Marcus loved but she cheated on him the entire time they were together.

This does not look good.

I walked a bit faster but this time with urgency. As I got closer I heard Marcus yelling at her.

"What the fuck do you want?"
"I need you Marcus. Please give me another chance."

'How pathetic.' I thought to myself

"I'll give you another chance alright, this time to get out of my house before you embarrass yourself more than you already did."  "The damage is done, Joanne. Nothing can change the way you hurt me. I loved you but all you did was screw the guy from the football team behind my back."

"Need any backup, Marcus?" I asked with a smirk.

"No, I think Joanne here got the idea already. She'll be leaving now. Goodbye Joanne, and please dont ever come back."

Joanne snorted and rolled her eyes at me. And with that she left.
