The yellow sun can be seen lowering in his translucent eyes. I have observed
that there are two kinds of eyes. The first being solid, like mine and the
latter, molten, like his. His eyes are by far the most stunning pair I have ever
come across. They are liquidly blue…..mostly. I use mostly because they are
never a definite color. The thing about them is that their color
alters depending upon what he wears.
We are sitting by a lake, the sky a beautiful orange, our hands intertwined as if to make it known that we own each
other and that there is no room for anyone else. A big leafless tree stands next to us
which should seem creepy but for some reason it doesn't. It seems rather
beautiful. Actually everything is, whenever I am with him. His way of seeing beauty in everything has grown on me over the years.
I realize that I have been watching the sun set not directly but in his eyes. Having realized this, I look away.
He looks at me, his gaze intense. He isn’t smiling…..unusual.
This stare of his is different from what I have ever seen before. It's like he
is somewhat angry, or more aptly desperate. His today ultramarine
eyes are gaping into mine, almost as if penetrating my very soul, like they are
searching for something. An answer? I instinctively look away not
being able to endure this burning gaze of his. I timidly look up again but he
is nowhere to be seen. My breath deepens and I start to panic as hot tears
flow down my face. My anxiety creeps in.
I wake up tugging my sheets and gasping for air. My palms are all sweaty and
so is my face. I grab a pillow and squeeze it against my chest, hoping it helps. I know I have to call him. Sobbing for no apparent reason I
quickly sweep my phone off the bedside table and dial his number my
fingers fumbling all the while. As I dial his caller ID comes up along
with his picture and I sit staring at my phone. Wondering if calling him is
a good idea after what had happened.
