Alright so at first your probably thinking "what's wrong with Donald duck?" well the Theory is that Donald duck has PTSD ((Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)).

PTSD, or Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of a life-threatening events such as military combat, natural disasters, terrorist incidents, serious accidents, or physical or sexual assault in adult or childhood.

This explains a lot of the pantless ducks erractic behaviors, from the lack of being able to come up with a response when social stimuli have been introduced to, the costant flash backs and "persistent symptoms of increased arousal (e.g. difficulty falling or staying asleep, anger and hypervigilance)".

Come to think of it, now that I'm older everything falls into line after all Donald duck was a paratrooper in WWII, this would also explain his disinterest in sharing his war time stories with everyone.

I have a friend that suffers with PTSD so now that I thing back to her reactions to some of the same things it all falls into place.
