When I think about my life, all I can see are my regrets.

////////////

"Where's Rui?"

"She just went up to the rooftop crying..."

"Huh why?"

"Um, that's because..

She got rejected by Mizuhara-kun yesterday.."

////////////

Thump. Thump.

I ran up the stairs trying to wipe away the hot tears streaming down my cheeks. Finally reaching the rooftop, I flung open the door and shouted - to no one in particular - "I HAVE ENOUGH! I WANT TO DISAPPEAR!!" My knees crumbled and I collapsed onto the ground, still sobbing.

Kei that stupid idiot! He hasn't met my eyes all morning!! The one who's in shock is me!!! He doesn't even know how much courage it took me!!

"How I wish I didn't confessed! If we had just stayed as childhood friends..." I muttered to myself, I glanced up at the clear sky wishing that I could rewind time. Rewind time... To all the times I regretted doing something...

A gust of wind suddenly blew and caressed my cheeks gently. Loose strands of my hair flowed with the wind. I slowly look up at the tall tower beside me.

////////////

"Why the roof?"

"In this school, there's a rumor about hell's clock right? Apparently, there's a ghost girl who lives at the clock tower on our school's rooftop. The clock she possesses can freely manipulate time. If you make a wish under the large clock on the rooftop, she'll appear and lend that clock to you.

But

In exchange,

you have to give her something important."

Crows flew over my head, black feathers dropping down. In the moment, my mind wandered off to the few hours before, when I confessed to Kei.

He was moving schools, to Hokkaido, because of his parent's new job. Being one of the most popular guys in school, the news spread like wildfire. I was taken aback as he didn't tell me anything about changing schools. Even though we were childhood friends.

"Rui, are you all right with not confessing? You liked him since forever right? You have to tell him properly!" my best friend urged and encouraged me. But little did I know I would regret this decision.

So after school when we were walking home together, I grabbed his hand and shouted those three important words which I want to say forever to him.

"Sorry, I can't see you as anything more than a childhood friend." Kei just smiled at me, brushing off my confession like it was dirt. He didn't want to accept it. Since then, he hasn't looked me in the eyes.

If I knew it was going to turn out this way, I wish I didn't confess..

"Ghost.. I'll give you anything!! Please lend me your clock!!!"

I want to go back to the time I confessed!

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

The clock striked twelve but nothing happened. The crows that were flying landed on the clock tower squawked at me, like it's taunting me.
