Thunderstorms Are Calming

Thunderstorms are calming,

I wish they happened more where I live
That's definitely something I'll look for in a place when I move
There's no way I'm staying in this town
Too many memories
It'll just be a place for holidays and reminiscing
It'll always be home
But not the home I want
I'll find a spouse, have a kid if they want,
If I don't find a spouse just adopt a dog or two
Maybe a hairless cat while I'm at it
I'll live in a smaller town
Or find a quiet life in the city, you know, a small cafe to go to on breaks with a well enough paying job not too far
Probably the latter considering the field I want to go into
If my spouse doesn't like storms it would suck,
But I'd also try and let them see how it's calming
How the booms rumble your bones as if cradling you
How lighting shows that even the scariest things can have bright spots
How the rain going down the window can wash away fears
How thunderstorms are calming.
If they still don't see well I'll calm them myself
Although in day to day life they are probably going to be the only thing keeping me together
I'm not a calm person normally
I'm easily overwhelmed, it's frustrating, but I also keep it inside for if I do let go I'll probably hurt someone
It's like the thunderstorms are getting angry for me though,
Like the booms yell for me
Like the lightning burns and hits for me
Like the rain cries for me
Like the thunderstorms are calming.
If you still don't see
Why they are calming to me, not scary and anxiety causing
Well, how about I just tell you that
When booms were heard when I was young, I was told it's just giants bowling with family
When the lighting was seen when I was young, I was just told that the giants are playing the game when you turn the light switch on and off.
When the rain was felt I just knew that one of the giants was crying from happiness.

Thunderstorms are calming.
