Tactic Betrayal

Chapter Four

As Ryan tore down the back streets of the town so did the CIA as they desperately tried to keep up with him and stop him in his tracks. "Sir! We're close on his tracks with target in sight. Permission to close off the highway and put in road blocks and use explosives." Said alpha one.

"Permission granted. I'll do all of that now." Replied the director.

Olivia said "Ryan do you have a gun? I can shoot back at them." Ryan muttered back saying. "I do but there is no point because their cars are bullet proof." Even Ryan had some doubts about escaping but he couldn't let such thoughts enter his mind.

He briefly thought back to his training, 'if you think you can you probably can, if you think can't you probably can't.' Which is why he needed to keep a positive mindset.

Ryan was completely lost in the. downtown part of the city so he asked Olivia, "Olivia! Find a map we need to find a route out of downtown and into the country side where we can lose them.

"Are you sure? I think the city might be a better route since there are many places we can hide." Suggested Olivia.
"No way too risky, there will be cameras everywhere, no where to hide without someone seeing and if they did know where we were, we would just be trapped." Said Ryan.

Ryan kept taking hopeless turns around the corners of the roads until Olivia found a map which showed all the city roads and country side roads around it. "Here! Ryan if you take the next left and then right then we should be on way to the closest Forrest where we could ditch the car and hide."

"Sure, that sounds like a pretty good plan." Replied Ryan. Their plan was to tear through the fence in the vehicle across the field in hopes of an easy escape from the CIA. "OK, now!"

The fence scattered all over the car and windscreen as they tore through the fence. Bullets still pounded Ryan's non bullet proof car which made it agonizingly harder for them to escape and after their twenty minute drive down from the city the engine in the car was just waiting to give in and break.

"Great suggestion Olivia, it looks as if your plan worked I think they're slowing completely down." Praised Ryan. "OK, go into there." Said Olivia.

They parked and left the car by some thick trees with leaves in between some large boulders which was just by the river. Dawn was just about break which meant that Ryan and Olivia were running out of time. The last thing they needed was the sun to come because that would just make them easy to spot, the night was their only cover.

So as a last effort for escape they sprinted into the cover of the trees upstream of the river just as the CIA agents dispersed from the cars. "Alpha team this way, go!"

Bullets hailed towards them. "We need cover!" Shouted Olivia. They dived behined a rock for shelter as Ryan used up the last ammo he had.
"We can use the river to escape, it's our only way out. Come on!" Said Ryan. "Hold your breath and swim as far as possible."

They ran past the last cover of trees and jumped straight into the river. Bullets punctured the river water barely missing their target. They swam upstream for about fifty seconds. "This way up here." Coughed Ryan. They climbed onto the other side of the river after losing them.

"Alpha one we've lost target."
