Chapter Six
I woke up and looked at my alarm clock. It was the first day of my senior year. I just wanted to crawl back in my bed and go back to sleep, but I knew I couldn’t do that. It was time to bring Aria down. I groaned getting out of my warm comfortable bed and went into my bathroom. I took my shower, brushed my teeth, and plugged in my curling irons. I had looked online the other day to see how to style chin length hair cuts and I found some pretty good ones. I was going to curl my hair for the first day and pin back my bangs. While the curling irons where hooking up I decide to pick out my outfit. I walked over to my walk-in closet and picked out a green and white stripped cardigan, a white camisole, a pair of shorts, and green flats. I went over to my drawer and picked out a green headband.
I pulled on the clothes after ironing them and went back into the bathroom to finish my hair. I applied a small amount of gold eye shadow and a thin cut of sheer pink lip gloss. I walked downstairs after collecting my backpack which had a picture of cookie monster on it. I stepped into the kitchen and grabbed a donut. My mom was sitting on the couch she turned at looked at me curiously. I hadn’t even seen her around the house the past few days she’d been working really hard.
“Well, hello there. You must be one of Jordan’s friends.” She stated.
I couldn’t help but to bust out laughing she looked at me like I had lost my mind, “It is me, mom! This is the new look that I was talking about. You like?”
Her mouth dropped, “My, you look so different! I couldn’t even recognize my own daughter!” Her eyes were warm, “Sweetie, you look wonderful. Have a good day at school.”
I couldn’t help but to go over to her and hug her, “Thanks mom.” If my own mom couldn’t figure out who I was, maybe I really could pull this off! I told her bye one final time and I got in my car. I pulled into the school parking lot; people would always stand around in the parking lot in people’s spots. So I just blew the horn. Everyone eventually backed out the way and moved. I collected my backpack and things and I breathed in trying to relax myself. It was time to play a part and I was ready. I channeled my “inner Aria”. I stepped out of the car and the girls stopped digging through their oversized purses and the boys staring and nudging their friends.
Caden and Christian were among the group. I hadn’t even talked to Caden ever since the party. With his job he was busy, and I was busy with my plan. I didn’t have time to do hardly anything. Christian was still talking and he looked up from flirting with Aria, who trying to be seductive? She kept throwing her hair over her shoulders. Finally, his eyes left her chest just long enough to see what everyone was staring at. His eyes widened, he probably thought I was a new piece of meat. He came over.
“Hey what’s your name, cutie?” He said in a playful voice as he waggled his eye brows.
Aria was looking at me with a frown so deep that it looked like her whole face was about to sink in. I decided to play it cool.
“Hey Caden,” I said ignoring Christian entirely.
“H-hey, Jordan. Whoa,” He just kept looking at me.
Christian just stood there stunned. He wasn’t use to girls not falling in love with him from the moment he said something. I turned and walked away not saying anything else to anyone. I looked out of the corner of my eye to see Christian grabbing his backpack from one of his buddies. He followed me trying to get my attention.
