The unbearable frantic voice of her father shocked her out of her mini slumber. She gasped when she felt the slight dull pain of her skull which was a result of banging into the hard surface; which she was now situated on. She blushed at the reminder of how she ended up on the floor.
After regaining a bit of her self dignity ,she bashfully lifted her gaze to the adults peering above at her.Her father's eyes betrayed his furious emotion but his face was altered to appear as concerned. Mr.Collin was gazing intently on Haze as though anticipating an outburst of foul profanities that Haze would never dare to utter in the presence of her father. However she was oblivious to his curiosity and she was fixated on Mrs. Collin. Those grey eyes , that seemed to rage a battle, seemed oh so familiar to Haze. Those eyes were the eyes of her mother.
"Erm..I'm fine, I was just dizzy," she uttered feebly as she proceeded to get up and greet the Collins. Still shocked by the familiarity of Mrs Collins and her own mother's eyes, She made her way over the to the table not daring to utter a single word.
Glenda entered into the dining room with plates of food and served the guests the delightful cuisine along with her and her father. The conversation at the dinner table was neutral and basic not requiring too much input from Haze unless a question was aimed at her.
After dinner Haze made her way to her bedroom to contemplate about her life. she wondered as she watched the nightsky if it would ever really change, if one day she could wake up and be free.
