I'm going to try for a new POV, in Sandra's point of view.
----------
Sandra purred as she cuddled into Grad's side, "It's nice to be away from all the ruckus for a while, isn't it, Grad?"
"Yeah," Grad purred, "It is."
Sandra glanced into his eyes,"Don't you think things would be a lot... Easier if we just ran away?"
Grad scowled, "You know we can't do that! Your the tribe leader, and I'm... I'm the hunting group commander! If we left, the clan would die off in a month!"
Sandra mewed, "But we wouldn't have to worry about that! We would be all alone, out in the wild! Together!"
Grad snarled, "If you care more about your well-being than the tribe's, then we can't be together!"
Sandra purred, "If I'm your tribe leader, I could very well make it so we have to be together."
Grad growled, "You should be ruling alongside your brother! Show him the hospitality we showed you! You killed her, Sandra. You killed her just to be able to rule!"
Sandra purred, "If I hadn't killed that mate of yours, we would never be able to be together, Grad. Never."
Grad scowled, "I'm never going to be able to be with my mate's killer. It's not right, Sandra."
Sandra snarled, "I don't care if I killed your mate! You love me now, don't you?"
Grad growled, "Never."
Sandra gasped as Grad uttered that final word and turned away from her. She watched as he prowled back up the path to camp, "Wait! Please, Grad!"
Grad turned around and snarled two words before stalking back up to camp, "We're over."
Sandra felt tears cascade down her cheeks and muzzle as she climbed up a tree to wallow in self-pity.
Seroin watched as Grad stalked back into the camp, without Sandra. He jumped in front of him, and snarled, "Where's my sister?"
Grad leaped over Seroin without answering, but Grant came over to his dad, and Seroin heard Grad say, "I hurt her badly, son."
Seroin glared at Grad's back for a moment before leaping into the forest to find his sister.
