"I choose him", read the last line of the lenghty letter
Even when the sun shined astonishingly bright
Darkness engulfed her mind
A few days had pushed past her grief and anger
But the memory of the day was still ever greyThat day when her daughter...
She let out a laugh of grief over the word
Daughter...Was she her daughter?
The one that eloped, putting her family as a prey
In the bitter mouth of the society to tear to pieces
That stranger was not her daughterThe daughter whom she showered with love
On the birth of whom she rejoiced
Even when the family was disappointed,
That the baby was not a boy,
And above all, the daughter that she had faith onFaith that she will play fair in the game of life
Faith that she will make the family name glow
But all she did was throw them
Into the predatory jaws of the society
Which battered the family mercilessly
And like a leech sucked all their happiness and peace
And now they lie in sorrow, their heart limp and lifeless
Never to be brought to life again.
