The history of games can be traced back nearly 5000 years to Egypt. These ancient games would decide the fate of humans and kings. These games were called Shadow Games. But these games have evolved into a competitive kind of sport with more than one way of playing. These new ways of playing the game are Turbo Duels and the traditional Duels. Turbo Duels is a type of Duel which is only played by using a Duel Runner. Turbo Duels came with the advent of Ener-D, the power created from the positive energy of Dueling that powers the city's technology, including their vehicles. Turbo Duels were created when Kaiba-Corp thought to invent a sport that took advantage of an Ener-D-powered vehicle, as it adds many new dynamics to Duels, but is only for the most experienced duelists and should be treated with respect. The traditional way came be played by any duelist no matter their level, novice to expert. The duelist that excel at this can go on and learn to become champions by attending the Duel Academy. Any duelist that wants to go to the academy must pass a written exam and pass a physical duel exam. If you are accepted to the academy you will see a letter like this one. "Dear (Your Full Name), Welcome to the (The academy nearest to you), the students here have one thing on their mind and that's Duel Monsters. Each and every student here will go on and become champions in their own way. Every student that goes to our establishment is put into one of three dorms, Slifer Red, Ra Yellow, or Obelisk Blue. You have shown the potential of a true duelist. So we welcome you to (Your dorm). Wish you the best of luck and see you at orientation, Headmaster Claudius of Central Academy"

The first dorm is Slifer Red. These students have the potential but lack the knowledge and or experience to use their potential. The second dorm is Ra Yellow. These students have great potential and know how to use it. The third and final dorm is Obelisk Blue. These students are born prodigies, have built a powerful deck, or have the highest level of potential and use it fully. Let me introduce you to three of our students. First is Legato Mega, he is the best student and duelist of the Slifer Red dorm and his deck of chose is a Hero deck of his own design. Legato is hot headed and becomes cocky very easily, but when it comes to defending his friends he is the first to step up and help them. Second is Alexander Regem, he is the top student and duelist of the Ra Yellow dorm and his deck of chose is a Synchro deck. Alexander relies on his deck's capability of allowing him to Synchro summon quickly. Alexander stays calm and analyzes his opponents from the very start of every duel, but when his opponent changes strategies half way through the duel it sometimes causes him to lose focus, but will defend his friends no matter what. The third student is a little different compared to the others. Tackeru Valentine isn't the top of his dorm but he does the best with the deck that he uses. Tackeru was given a deck from his adopted parent. The deck he uses is a Harpie Lady and Amazoness. Tackeru is kind and caring, but he has been mocked for his older style deck. With the help of his friends, Tackeru has been able to push past the people that have mocked him and show them why he was placed Obelisk Blue. Now these three are in there second year at the academy and are finishing up their fall semester, Tackeru and Legato are in the library studying for an upcoming final in Dueling Strategy while Alexander is preparing himself for a gym final. Their skills will soon be tested, in the most important duels of their lives. Let us see what's happening, shall we?

"Mr. Valentine, would you please come to my office as soon as possible please." The headmaster said over the school's intercom. "Dude, what did you do?" asked Legato. "I don't know." I said as I packed up my things. "Well whatever it is, good luck and see you at the final." Legato said as also packed up his things. I just shook my head as I left the library and headed towards the headmaster's office. I was almost to the main office when I ran into Alexander while he was heading to the gym. "Tackeru, what did you do my friend?" Alexander asked as he stopped me. "I have no idea, I was with Legato in the library." I said as I continued to the main office. "Better make it back in one piece, we still need to beat Legato and Eris in a tag team duel later." Alexander said as he held his fist up. "Wouldn't miss it, I'll be there. What kind of partner would I be to leave you to face them by yourself?" I said as I bump his fist with mine. I continued on my way till I stood in front of the main office. I stood in front of the headmaster's office door, took a deep breath, and knocked. "Come in Mr. Valentine," I heard the Headmaster's voice through the door. I walked in and saw the headmaster sitting behind his desk and long white haired man in a red suit sitting in front of the desk. "You wished to see me Headmaster Claudilous?" I asked as I closed the door behind me. "Is this the young duelist you were telling me about?" the red suited man asked as he stood up and walked toward me. "Yes Mr. Pegasus, this is Tackeru Valentine." Headmaster Claudilous said. "The Maximillion Pegasus, the creator of Duel Monsters." I said as stood in shock. "Yes, yes I am the creator of Duel Monsters, now tell me do you really use an older style of deck?" Mr. Pegasus asked as he stretched out his hand for me to shake it. "Yes sir, I do." I said as I shook his hand. "I was shocked when I heard that student was able to get into Obelisk Blue with a deck that has no extra deck and an older style of play... tell me what kind of deck do you use?" Mr. Pegasus asked. "The deck I use is based around Harpie Ladies and Amazoness." I said as he let go of my hand. "If my memory is correct, I use to know a duelist that used that same style. What was their name?" Mr. Pegasus said as he sat back down. "You're thinking of Mai Valentine, she is my mother." I said. "That's right, she was in my Duelist Kingdom tournament. If I may, could I see your deck?" Mr. Pegasus asked. "She told me that she placed third along with Bandit Keith." I said as I handed him my deck and waited to be seated. "Actually, she placed third and Keith was disqualified for cheating. Why don't you rebuild this to run one core and not two?" Mr. Pegasus asked as he looked through my deck. "I can't find sellers who have Harpie Ladies or Amazoness for sell." I said as I waited to be seated. "Please take a seat son." Headmaster Claudilous said as he motioned me to sit. "If I'm not in trouble, why am I here?" I asked as I sat down. "I asked your dear headmaster to pick a student who he thought was worthy of doing a favor for me." Mr. Pegasus said as he handed me my deck and an envelope. "And I choose you son. I thought you deserved this opportunity since you've come so far with your deck." Headmaster Claudilous said as I took the envelope.
