The letter to him

I was reading my book { Rainy Days } and stumbled across a letter in my desk.

It says " To: Jessica / From: Toby"

I cringed when I was unfolding this partially torn paper. I had a huge crush on Toby but he had a girlfriend so there wasn't much I could do.

Besides his girlfriend happened to be my best friend so yeah no.

Anyway I quickly unfolded the paper and it was an invitation. It looked like it was written by a half asleep monkey but it said:

Your invited to my 16th party

*Saturday January 13!! * Bring 1 friend. *And it's a pool party. * 7pm

Well ,I said to my self " it's Friday January 12th , my clothes are ugly , my parents are at work, and I don't have a licenses because I'm 15.

Immediately after that the bell rang, it was time for lunch. Usually I sit next to my best friend Miranda. ( Toby's girlfriend ) He would bring some of his friends , and I am totally ignored the entire lunch period.

Well no, I said to myself I'm not going to let this happen any longer , I'm going to face my fevers and confront him , and try to finally have a conversation sigh him.

Ok here we go! I was in the line to get my food, when I noticed a very familiar voice. "Dude no I'm not gonna ask her." I turned around only to find "Danny" who happened to be Toby's best friend.

He said , "Hey pretty lady wanna see a movie on Sunday night?"

At the time for some reason I had completely forgotten about the party so I said "Sure!"

*Dismissal*

I find my mom in the pick up line, walk up , through my backpack inside the trunk, then quietly sit inside the back seat.

To be honest It was really awkward. But then I decided that avoiding it won't get rid of it. So I jumped into the front seat then, I said.

"Hey Mom"

"Hey Jessi" she responded.

"How was your day?" I asked

"Good thanks for asking" said mom.

Then I held my breath and said "Umm can I ask you something?"

"Of course Hun " she said.

I thought to myself, ok here is my chance!!!!

So I said, "Two things , um first a cute guy named Danny asked me to the movies Sunday night, and I was wondering maybe if I could go?"

"Of course but I don't want you home any later then 11." She said.

"Ok and second thing , Miranda's boyfriend Toby invited me to his party and I really want to go also." I said.

"No, you will have to pick between one of them, not them both." Said mom.

"Ok" I said and I stopped the conversation there.

I new that when I got home I would have like a trillion messages on my phone but there was only 2. Both from Miranda . Apparently Danny had told Toby and Toby must have told Miranda because she had texted me... Are you going to Toby's party tomorrow? I also hear you have a date with Danny on Sunday!! Are you gonna got to both???

I quickly grabbed my phone then texted - Umm I asked my mom and she said I can only go to one. So I told her I'm going with Danny on Sunday. But I'm just going to tell her tomorrow night that there is a Math meeting in the library at school that I have to attend. I'll bring a bag with my party clothes, stop at a gas station and change! Then go to the party for a little while an dome back at 10! Genius ! Right?

Then she responded - Oh you go girl!
