Prologue

     Today, I write about how he died.

     I knew it was bound to happen, but i did not dare act on that knowledge; nor did i dare divulge it. The stars have warned me about it and extinguished the life in me... But i could do nothing except grieve inside.

     It was not an accident, of that I am certain. And the fact that we were ambushed when we were only a sun's ride away from our destination was something meant to happen. I was powerful...yet at that moment, powerless. The moon had turned its back on me.

     Still, the Will of the heavens cannot be questioned, nor the Acts, evaded.

     Such a thing as this is unavoidable;

     I knew it was fate.., and nothing could have changed the reality that on that dewy morning, with the moon just on the act of giving way for the sun to rise- he would be lost to me.

It was a necessary sacrifice.

     He, my love and my life, was the lamb on the pyre.
