I inhale a big breath before swinging open the door and taking a step inside. Why in the hell am I so nervous? It's not like anyone is even looking at me, right? I start making my way down the crowded hallway. People bumping into me every now and then and of course no one even caring enough to apologize. Nothing new there.

Let me introduce myself. My name Amelia Owens and I am 17 years old and I'm originally from America. Yeah, originally as in I'm not there anymore. You see, my brother Chase, my mom and I all recently moved to a little town in England. Most people my age would be absolutely thrilled at this but me on the other hand... Not so much. Well under the circumstances who could blame me?

A few months back my parents started arguing A LOT. Like 24/7. Literally I would be woken up at three in the morning by them screaming about God knows what. A short time later my mom confessed that the reason that they have been fighting so much was because she found out that my dad had been having an affair with this hoebag bartender at our local bar. I mean it makes sense I guess, he had been spending all of his free time there for the past couple of months.

What does all of this have to do with me moving to England you ask? Relax, I'm getting there. Long story short my parents got a divorce. It wasn't too bad I guess, our family never really was that close in the first place. It was easier on everyone also considering the fact our dad didn't even try fighting our mom for custody over us. I mean yeah that stung, but if he wasn't going to fight for me I'm not about to fight for him. I've always been kind of stubborn like that. But anyways, my mom felt as if she needed some family to help her "cope" with all that had been going on. Since both of her parents had passed away that only left her sister. Who may I add lived the perfect life.

My Aunt Jay is what most people call "lucky". In college she met this fancy shmancy business guy who surprise, surprise was from England. It was basically love at first sight for them and they got married, moved back to England and had two gorgeous babies and yeah, yeah you catch my drift. But as soon as Aunt Jay heard about everything that went down between my parents she insisted that we should move over to England so that we could all "really" be a family again. I mean don't get me wrong we visited England a few times and I really loved it but I wasn't so happy about the idea of leaving my life and my friends behind.

I guess I'm what most people describe as painfully shy. I normally hung out with the same old, same old group of kids back at home. Consisting of my best friend Hannah, her twin brother Trevor and Trevor's best friend Lance. I have a really hard time getting truly comfortable around people. Most people didn't really pay too much attention to me and that was the way I liked it. Most of the boys were only interested in the girls in the short skirts, who drove Mercedes, wore too much make up and had bleach blonde hair. The type who always partied and hooked-up with whoever whenever. I'll betcha you know the type. With my boring long light brown hair, hazel eyes, barely ever caring enough to put even an ounce of make-up on I was far from what those guys looked for. I was more of the type to waste her weekend away with movie marathons. And I had nothing even close to a Mercedes, I get around by my trusty ol' skateboard. And my favorite accessory? My worn out converses of course. So let's just say very few boys looked at me with their big goo goo eyes back home and the few that did made it apparent that they only wanted one thing. One thing that I wasn't about to give up for the sake of being popular.

Then there is my 16 year old brother Chase. He is your typical charismatic jock. Back home he was the kid that everyone loved. He always dated the pretty little preppy girls. He got perfect grades and had so many friends I couldn't even remember all of their names. He is pretty much the definition of perfect. Or course he loved the girls and his friends but his real passion, his real calling is soccer. He is absolutely incredible! I've never seen someone love something in put so much effort into anything like Chase does with soccer. But despite us being polar opposites me and Chase have always been each others true best friends. We've just gone through so much together. Literally everything from breakups, to friend problems, school issues, and lets not forget our lovely parents. He's always been super over protective of me which is kind of strange since I am the older child but hey I guess that's what brothers are for, right? I won't complain because in reality Chase is all I really have right now and he is the only person I know truly cares about me like I  care about him. Honestly, having him in England with me is the only good part about this move in my opinion.

So here I wondering around a crowded hallway having no clue where I am going or even where I am like a total idiot. I start looking for signs directing the way to the main office. Spotting it I follow the way it is pointing, it leading me around the corner. As I turn the corner I spy with my little a eye a group of wannabes. They're all wearing short mini skirts or short shorts showing off their ass cheeks. They literally look like they belong on the set of the movie Mean Girls. I quickly realize I am still starring when one of them catches my glare. Shit. Look away Amelia. Maybe she didn't even notice, just focus on something else. Hey, that's a nice water fountain! Haha not. I bet she isn't even looking. There is no way who would give a damn about anything that I do? Letting my curiosity get the best of me I quickly glance of at the group at I pass them. Of course, their all starring at me know and giggling. Bitches. Being the shy and awkward freak that I am I let this get the best of me and quickly pick up my. As I'm turning around I run into something, more like some and am knocked to the ground.

"Fuck." I whisper to myself rubbing the back of my head. The cackle from the herd of bitches behind me not helping matters.

I look up only to see two boys one of them being the one I ran into covering their faces laughing. Great, just what this school needs jerks-offs to go along with the bitches. I stand up and frantically brush myself off.

"God Amy, ya really know how to play it cool on your first day." I hear on of the boys say trying to stifle back his chuckles.

Flinging my head up only to see my cousin Louis, red faced from laughing at me.

"Lou!" I shout pulling him into an enormous hug. God i missed this cheeky little bastard!
