Asking permission

Today I was asking Y/n's parents for permission to ask her to marry me. i've known since the moment i saw how she acted with my fans that she was the one for me. Y/n was at work so I had plenty of time to visit her parents and be back before she could ask any questions. Y/n and her parents have always had some type of close relationship even in the mists of bad family fights they would still check in with each other from time to time so i knew even if most people didn't ask the fathers permission anymore that it would only hurt my relationship if i didn't ask 

so here i was now standing in front of their front door very nervously, i'm sure it was obvious what i came here to ask, especially since i was coming without Y/n and the last time i had done that was when Y/n and i had taken a break and i had come to my senses and come to get her back. i was so stupid to think i could live without her. i know that more then ever now because now that Y/n and i had moved in together it was rare that i'd be anywhere without her, not that i could ever mind her sweet smile yes even her stubborn attitude when she knows i should be writing songs instead. shit how'd my hands get so sweaty?! what if they notice! what if they say no or think something bad happened because i'm alone... i scrambled to very casually wipe my hands on my jeans, apart from getting a few weird looks from random people walking their pets my existence went without notice.

Finally after 10 minutes I built up enough courage to knock on the door. I waited a few minutes before Y/n's mother opened the door "hi harry it's so good to see you"she said opening the door wider so I could walk through "hi Mrs.Y/L/N it's good to see you too I was wondering if I could talk to you and Mr.Y/L/N about something if Mr.Y/L/N is home "I said giving her a hug "yes he's home he's just in his office hun I can go get him. is everything alright?"she said pulling away from the hug and walking to her husbands office.

"everything's fine I just have to ask you and Mr.Y/L/N something very important"I said sitting on the couch and waiting for her and her husband I sit on the chair across from me. it felt like forever  before Y/n's parents came walking into the room  but when they did Y/n's dad looked almost as if he could kill me for not bringing his daughter with me. shit. "what is it you need to ask us Harry"her father asked sighing slightly.

"well Mr. and Mrs.Y/L/N you know me and your daughter have been dating for four years almost 5 and I love her very very much. I would do absolutely anything for her, I know my job is a little unusual and very busy and I'm away from home a lot but it's starting to slow down now and I was wondering if it was OK with you.. if I asked your daughter to marry me?"I said looking at them both very nervously. silence. cold dead silence. shit shit shit what do i do???? what do i say? do i say something?! but just before i could open my mouth again Y/n's mom let out a squeal and started jumping up and down taking both Mr. Y/L/N  by surprise and making us both jump a little.

Once Mrs.Y/L/N calmed down Mr. Y/L/N started to smile as he said"I give you my blessing and permission. you have been together for four years and you have shown me that you love her and would do anything for her, but if you ever hurt her just remember I have own a shotgun"his face turn into a stern almost scary look. I looked over at Y/n's mother she was giving me a bright smile nodding her head before squealing more as she came over to hug me"of course you can I know you love my daughter and I already think of you as a son"she said  squeezing me tightly in her arms.

"I promise I will protect her and care for her I don't want to see her Hurt, she is my everything. i know that more then ever now. she's the love of my life. thank you so so much"I said with the biggest smile on my face. we talked for a little while after that. it was mostly me telling them how I was going to propose even asking for some of their help but before i knew it it was all set and ready to go and I left knowing my kitten hopefully soon to be wife would be home from work very soon and I wanted to be there to cuddle with her. the only things left is to pick out the ring, propose and hope she says yes. 

god i hope she says yes.
