part of my personality is being persistent.  i don't know if you're the same way, but i think it's great to be that way.  

but, it really bothers me when someone just doesn't have that same trait.  i don't see how someone can want to be average—to be less than their potential.  like, HOW ?

i know so many people who don't even try, and even if it make me seem better than them (no offense), i honestly can't deal with them.  you should be willing to do your best and not stop trying.

i have a friend who i sit next to on the bus.  we talk a lot about school and stuff like that, and i've heard the dumbest things come out of her mouth. 

so we got our final grades for a period of six weeks, and we compare our grades.  i had all A grades, and my friend had... well, not as good grades.

i ask her, "how come you have a B- in P.E?"

she replies, "oh, i haven't turned in all my assignments."

in my head, i'm absolutely shOOk.  how can you get such a bad grade in P.E ?? i can't tell why she didn't go right over to her teacher and fix her grade!

i had so many questions, like if her parents cared or if she even cared, but i knew she'd get annoyed.  with the C's and B's she had on her grades, i could tell that we had a different mindset.

then there's MY P.E class.  most of the people there are actually pretty athletic and play a sport.  but you have that one section of the room that doesn't really care about that class at all.  i mean, do they even care about school ?

so this one day, my class had to run a mile, and we were being timed—not to mention this would be on our grade !! we got some new students because second semester had just begun, and two of them included these girls who wanted to cheat their way around this class from the beginning.

my teacher blows her whistle, and all of us start running, EXCEPT for those two.  they immediately walk their way down the pavement. i got so angry at them because that wasn't fair to everyone else who was running.  how did my teacher not notice ?

we run for a minute or so and my friend and i take a break.  and out of the corner of my eye, i see these two cut the field and i'm like, TEH FOK

when i say cut the field, I mean CUT THE FIELD.

they literally went through the middle of the field and just

they just

AGHHH

and honestly i've never seen someone so desperate in my class to get out of running laps so i felt quite concerned.
