I'm hanging on the phone is dead

But "hang on" is what you said

So I will hang on to the phone

I wont grumble I wont moan

Sometimes I will do what I'm told

But this hanging on is very old

Can I drop it and let go too?

I'd much rather talk to you.....

This little ditty came about when I was chatting with a friend online and his phone rang. He told me: "Phone: hang on." And then he forgot me. After a while I had to leave myself so I wrote this and sent it to him, explaining why I left. My daughter, who I had gone to meet, laughed at it when I told her about it. I think this was written around 2003 or so.
