Fear

Based on the following quote,
F.E.A.R has two meanings;
Forget Everything And Run
Or
Face Everything And Rise
The choice is yours...

We can all remember a time when something has plagued our minds. An anxiety begins to build within us, making us feel worried and helpless.
We recognise this feeling as fear.

And fear is definitely what he was feeling.
The fear of being truly alone.
And he didn't like it one little bit.

She had a different fear.
The fear that fear that she'll disappoint everyone.
The weight of the world on her shoulders.
But she decided to do something about it.

"Always remember, little one, that fear has two meanings. You can forget everything and run, or face everything and rise."
The little girl looked up at her grandmother in wonder and awe.
The old woman smiled kindly upon her.

This memory was etched into her mind.
Now when the world calls upon her, she remembers those words.
So instead of hiding in the corner
she gets up.

He didn't remember much from his childhood. The memories where blurry, his family was gone. All he knew was a kind old man, who took him in and raised him.

He always told the little boy one thing. "When you've fallen down and broken, and feel like you can't go on, be grateful. Because now who have a chance to get back up. And show the world all your glory. "

The little boy always listened, but scoffed that he would need that advice.

But then his world changed.
And fear got the best of him.
So he ran.

Now in the forest, he sat by a tree.
Scared, afraid, broken.

This fear was new to him. For now was alone. Truly alone.
So he sat,
and decided to forget.

And that's where she found him.

"Hey, are you ok?"
He looked up to see her, a girl, similar age to himself. Concern crossing the features of her face.
He looked down and let the tears fall.
And there was silence, for a while.

She looked into his eyes. Studying them. Trying to understand.
Finally, she did.

"Your afraid," she sat down in front of him.
"Your eyes. I can see the fear."
He looked away, ashamed.

"But that's ok,"
"Because even though fear may seem awful it's really an opportunity,"
He looked up.
"A chance."
"Because fear has two meanings, you can forget everything and run. Or, face everything and rise. The choice is yours."

She got up offering a hand to him.
"So what are you going to choose?"

It was at that moment, the words that he had never understood, came back. 'When you've fallen down and broken, and feel like you can't go on, be grateful. Because now who have a chance to get back up. And show the world all your glory.'

He knew this was his chance.

And finally, this feeling made sense now.
Although it causes anxiety and distress,
It pushes you farther than you ever thought you'd go.

And that feeling is,
Fear.
