P.s Mercury vapour is very toxic and milliners used to stiffen the fabric of top hats. That is where we get the term 'Mad Hatter' becasue the mercury vapours used to make the wearers go mad. Now-a-days we know that mercury vapour is toxic and now top hats are made with card and other materials that are very safe.
