Watson's POV
Sherlock was asleep in his chair, a bookin hand. He had been working on a case non-stop for the last threedays, and I don't think he had slept during the whole time. I wastyping out my latest blog post, The Man With Wings. We had solved thecase the previous week, and I hadn't had the time to write it alldown, since Sherlock had me working another three cases at the sametime.
I finished writing the third paragraph, barely even scratching the surface of the case. "John, you have avisitor." Mrs. Hudson said, barging into the room and wakingSherlock up. He jumped out of his seat, his eyes wide and a smile onhis face.
"I've got it, John!" He yelled, andran out of the room, past the two women standing in the door way."Well John, are you coming or not?" He said, running back intothe room and grabbing his coat and scarf.
"Sherlock, can you not see we havecompany? You can go work on the case, I apparently have to take careof something here." I told him, pinching the bridge of my nose andplacing my laptop on the table.
"Oh yes, you're new, do you have acase? Of course you don't, you're here to see John. Why are you hereto see, John?" Sherlock asked, placing his hands under his chin, the tips of his fingers placed together. "You're his sister, oryou're trying to be his sister, he only has one. So why are you here? You're a spy? A new girlfriend? You're the newest person Mycroft hassent to spy on me,posing as John's sister?"
"Sherlock, that's enough. She reallyis my sister. Sherlock, this is Lexi, Lexi this is the arrogantbastard I live with." I introduced, standing up and pulling theyounger girl into a hug. "Yes though, she is a spy."
"Was... I got fired last year..."She said, looking at the ground.
"You're homeless, that makes sense. You're here hoping that John can help you out, although you haven't spoken to him in years. Youhave no idea, what you're doing with your life any more, and you'rescared that you're not going to be as successful as your brother. You were fired for disobeying orders, nothing major, just refusing tokill someone who was innocent. How did you know he was innocentthough?" Sherlock questioned. I just sighed. Lexi was going to havea field day with this now. Damn Mrs. Hudson for waking him up.
"I could tell. Just like I can tellthat you don't really have the answer to the case you're working on,you just didn't want to put up with company today. You don't have anyfriends, just John, and you feel like showing off in front of him,the only thing is I used to be the exact same way." Sherlock lookedat her his jaw practically hitting the floor.
"I am going to get us all something toeat, so you two sit there and don't leave the house." I told them, making any excuse I could to get away from the deducing battlethat was about to start.
Sherlock's POV
She was able to deduce my thoughts. Shecould tell I was lying about the case. How could she tell? I justcontinued to stare at her, completely shocked, unable to think ofanything. How could she do that? Mycroft my own brother couldn't dothat, and I had spent my entire life with him! She only met me threeminutes ago, and I haven't said anything about myself.
"Sherlock, oh God, John I think Ibroke him!"Lexi called, as John made his way down the stairs.
"If he's broken, just throw him away,I'm sure we can find another!" John called back, as I managed tocome back to reality.
Lexi smiled, as I shook my head sittingdown in my chair. "How did you..." I began before cutting myselfoff. I looked up at the girl still stood in the doorway, her handsawkwardly shoved into her pockets.
"You're eyes tell me everything. You're still stuck on the case, but you know what you're missing isright there in front of you. You have read it a thousand times butyou haven't seen the message within it."She said, pointing to the case file.
