This chapter's gonna be extremely short since it's just supposed to tie everything together and end the book, that and I kinda ran out of idea, but I hope those reading this enjoy nonetheless!
When the group arrived close to the village, Mark and Sean's imposters were waiting by the forest's edge to stop them from entering.
"This is our kingdom now." Mark's imposter's voice was a deep baritone that sent shivers down Amy's spine.
"Who even are you?" Tyler asked.
"I'm Dark, and Anti is my king." Dark took Anti's hand in his as if to prove a point.
"We're a peaceful village-"
"Peaceful?" Dark spat, cutting Mark off.
"Back when there were three clans, your clans were the ones that exiled us to the forest." Anti sneered as he glared at Mark and Sean, his voice a much higher pitch.
"I am not my brother, and Sean was exiled to the forest as well to serve as a healer!" Mark protested.
"Besides, he doesn't kill people." Bryan turned to glare at Dark with Kevin stil unconscious in his arms. Dark did nothing but stare back coldly his eyes seeming to bore into Bryan.
"Sacrifices are necessary if one wants to be a ruler." Dark stated matter of factly.
"I don't want to rule, why is that hard for people to understand?!?" Mark growled in irritation.
"Because you're a natural born leader. Even if you weren't the heir to the throne after Thomas died, I would choose you." Amy blurted before she realized what she was saying.
Mark glanced back at her, eyes wide in surprise.
"Mark, what are-"
Felix had ran up to the forest edge, but was confused when he saw Dark, Mark, Anti, and Sean. Since they the two pairs looked the same, he couldn't tell the difference.
"He's the imposter!" Mark and Dark pointed at each other in unison while Anti changed places with Jack to confuse him further.
Felix glanced behind them at the group gathered behind them, but neither could tell the difference.
Which gave Amy an idea.
She remembered that in the forest when she thought she found Mark, there was a golden retriever that he called Chica.
"Call your dog." She instructed them.
"Here Chica Bica, come here girl!" Either Mark or Dark patted his legs.
"Siphora!" The other yelled, then whistled. The dog bounded up to Mark, whom was standing to the left and had called the dog Siphora.
"Good girl." Mark ran a hand through her fur while Dark, having been found out, retreated into the forest back to his castle. Anti hesitated before following after him, not wanting to be left behind.
"You really don't want to rule?" Felix asked Mark incredulously as they finally entered the village.
"You're a fine leader Felix, I trust you." Mark placed a reassuring hand on his friend's shoulder.
"I'll let the people know." Felix nodded before walking off.
"Why would you give ruling up?" Matt asked Mark.
"Too much pressure, not really my thing. I much prefer spending time in the woods." He smiled fondly.
"Even with the whole Dark and Anti thing?" J-Fred chimed in.
"Well it wasn't fun, but life has its ups and downs like that." Sean shrugged casually.
"Who wants to go hunting?" Mark interjected, his eye gleaming with mischief.
The entire group agreed to go.
Race you to that tree!" Sean challenged Mark, pointing to a tree in the distance before taking off towards it.
Together the Hunter and the Healer bounded ahead armed with a bow and arrows, ready to enjoy their new life.
