With a single breath, a stinging feeling overcomes the lungs. Almost instantaneous a rushing river of adrenalin, anxiety, & panic all overtake you. You are no longer breathing nor thinking. How long have you gone without a thought or hint of oxygen?

It's black, pitch black not a spark of life or light to be found. Is this reflecting your mind, your heart, or have you going mad? Confused, restrained, unbridled rage. Yet you are motionless here. Your chest grows tight, fear present at your side slowly engulfing you.

Gathering strength, fear, and uncertainty together you force an open jaw. Immediately filled and flood, certain it is not the air you so deeply desired. More stinging takes residence in your chest. Strain grips you by the throat and much like a light switch handled by a child, toggled is your taste buds kicking on and off sending flickering signals of familiar sensations. The taste of iron and salt swished back and forth in your mouth.

You swing your arm to feel no movement,  no resistance. Only the processed, mental imagery of the act and kicking only boor similar results. Forced as desperation dominates your core, your eyes open to reveal carpet, familiar, your bedroom. Kneeled down gasping for air. You look behind you and to the sides revealing more of your room, you bed. Half made and empty.

Before you is a large plate made of glass. Looking back at you is your own reflection, but is that still you? Off to the side is a dresser, on top of it lays a picture frame turned on its face. You attempt to lift quickly accompanied by the sound of shattering as small clear specks topple to the wooden surface. Remaining in the frame is a picture, you peeked, it was them. Your eyes dart to the door. A hastily packed suitcase along side several fist sized punctures in the wall.

A second later, the mirror too falls to clear specks that tumble and bounce on the ground. With it so does the image of you that clung to its surface. Your hand now painted in crimson yet no pain, instead pain relief as your mind grows light and your sight is visited by a red hue overlaying all in your view.

Gravity makes is presence known by pulling at you. To which you give in embracing gravity as it drags you down. With a final breath, a stinging feeling overcomes your lungs.
