~Sydney's P.O.V*~
Often when I woke up I would have just a couple messages on my phone, though today was different. Today my phone laid beside my pillow with no messages on the screen.
"What the hell?" Sitting up tossing the heavy blanket back staring at the wall blankly. Why did the day already feel so... I guess dysfunctional, for lack of better word.
While going through the regular motions of getting ready a knock on my door startled me. After feeling like I was back in my own skin, I made way to my bedroom door.
"Sydney are you actually home?" My brother's voice roughly came through the closed door, that I stood by staring at it like I could see him right through the dark wood.
"Yeah, I am actually home... weird it's like I live here or something." Scoffing and walking away from the door and back to the mirror that sat on top of my dresser working on pulling up my long silvered hair, "Come on in Eli." sighing realizing he wanted something from me not just to see if I was in my room. He opened the door and stepped in closing it softly behind him, making way to my twin bed that he made seem so small.
"Sydney, what should I say to Christina?" A whine for help leaving his lisps as he laid back, his feet hanging off the end of my bed. Elijah was certainly not one to come to me for advice. But, the person he normally would go to and ask was the one he was so concerned about. This oh, so wonderful job fell onto my shoulders. I do not mean to sound like an awful sibling, but I handle things so differently than my brother.
"About what Eli? What happened?" The confused feeling looped through my head wondering what could go so wrong that Christina would actually be mad at Eli.
"Well, Sydney..." Eli drew out what he was trying to tell me making me slightly annoyed and impatient.
"Spit it out Eli, I will loose interest if you take any longer." Rolling my eyes and turning around to look at Eli leaning against my dresser, watching him nervously wiggle his fingers into a flexed fist.
"I agreed to go out with Amanda." His steal blue eyes seeming glazed over with tears, he was honestly that concerned about this?
Now not to be completely harsh, but my little brother is horrible at showing his feelings . Which made it close to impossible for those around him to like him. Making my explaining shorter lets just say he is not a ladies man. But, Eli certainly had his looks going for him.
Eli was probably five foot ten inches tall, on a good day that is. He was thin, but still had decent muscle. I imagine that would be called lean, this being because he was a runner. Eli's short curly brown hair locks and soft steal blue eyes, that got all girls attention. But, he would ruin that with the lack of showing interest in them. I remember for a while when he was in middle school he struggled with a rumor going around that he was gay. So he quickly found a girlfriend who was willing to just throw herself at him.
That was this Amanda girl, to me it seems like a repeat of what was going on back then. Amanda is a freshman at our school and literally threw herself at him. Like usually in romance books then toss their books down, she quite literally threw herself into him in the hall. smooth... I remembered many heated conversations with Christina about this Amanda girl.
"Just tell her Elijah, this shouldn't be an issue." Finally finishing putting my hair in a bun and walking across my room to grab my wallet keys and phone putting them into my pockets watching Eli whine and throw his arms up in the air.
"You know Christina she will want the whole story and I just can't." He quickly refused my answer and begged me with yearning eyes.
"What? You want me to tell her?" Snapping at him moving across my room to look in the mirror again debating on a different outfit groaning frustrated.
