maia moore got out of her mom's car that day feeling like crap, for lack of a better word. her best friend kaitlyn was going to her future college for the summer program, while she was stuck at their childhood sleep-away camp, mt. collins summer camp. she hadn't been there since seventh grade, and she was now a high school junior.
"oh my god! lauren? is that you?" a girl excitedly screamed at maia.
"who? no, i'm maia. maia moore." she told the girl while twirling her hair.
"oh. well where's lauren?" she asked maia.
"i don't know a lauren. sorry." maia replied, looking down at the ground and kicking a pebble.
"whatever. i'm kaelee. cabin seventeen. we probably won't be friends, but you can try." the girl mumbled, rolling her eyes.
"uh, okay then. bye." maia looked at kaelee like she was some sort of alien, and walked away.
maia made her way to the cabin. she found the bunk with her name on it, and noticed someone staring at her from above. it was kaelee. they were bunkmates.
"great." she grunted under her breath.
