Noah's POV

"That will show them," I thought as I hammered the last nail into place.

I threw the hammer in my school bag and sprinted out of the building.  I felt my heart pounding in my chest as I ran down the street in the middle of the night.  My forehead had a thin layer of sweat on it and my palms were getting warmer and warmer.  The police had no doubt already been called and on their way.

The moment the thought crossed my mind, I heard sirens blazing in the distance.  I pumped my arms and ran faster down the street.  Maybe if I outrun them I'll get off without a scratch.

"NOAH MILLER.  STOP WHERE YOU ARE.  HALT.  NOAH MILLER YOU HAVE BEEN ORDERED TO STOP.  STOP!  NOAH MILLER YOU ARE UNDER ARREST.  HALT."

As I heard the police officer's voice blared out from the bull horn, I knew I was done for.  I knew that finally I had been caught.  I stopped running and fell over where I stood.  My legs were burning as I toppled over on the grass.  The police car skidded to a halt.

I cursed under my breath; knowing what it would lead to.  I felt myself being pulled up roughly by two stocky police officers.

"Noah Miller, you are under arrest by the State Police of New Jersey for vandalism on public property."

I was pushed chest first into the police car.  I felt handcuffs on my hands; the click and a tight pinch confirmed it.  I hand pushed my head down as I was stuffed into the back of the police cruiser.  The door shut and I was arrested.

"Wait.  Hold up.  You have to move to your mom's friends house because the fuzz thinks that Trenton is a bad influence on you?" Carter confirmed.

"Yeah, it frickin sucks, man," I grumbled.

"That's bullshit!" he exclaimed.

"I know.  It's only for three months, as long as I stay clean.  At least I'm not going to juvy," I mumbled.

"Yeah, well, whatever.  You shouldn't have to leave here just beacause of a stupid prank!"

"Tell me about it," I sighed.

"And what did your mom say about all this?" he asked.

"She's glad to get rid of me.  I haven't seen her this happy in years!" I rolled my eyes at the thought of   it.

"What?!  You've got to be joking!" he exclaimed.

"Nope.  She's a mad old cow, she is," I sighed.

"Well, when are you leaving?"

"Tonight.  The fucking police don't want me to pull a runner."

"Dicks.  Why don't you?"

"Hello, juvy!" I said obviously.

"Oh, damn.  Well, I'll miss ya, man."

"Ditto that.  I've got to go pack.  I'll see you on the flip side."

"Yeah, see ya."

Carter hit my shoulder a couple times, gave me a sad smile and walked away.

I groaned and walked back to my room after shuting the front door.

I threw the rest of my clothes in the duffle bag and left to the basement to go punch stuff.
