Houston:
I couldn't believe that I was going to go see Astrid. This was going to be a disaster.
I walked up to the door, and raised my fist to knock. Before I did, though, the sound of muffled voices came through the door. Quickly, I put my ear to it and listened. My eyes widened. Angela and Astrid were in there together. Suddenly there was the sound of footsteps and the door opened, forcing me to fall forward, right in front of the two girls.

Angela:
The door opened, and the first look I got of Astrid since that afternoon hit me like a sledgehammer. Her eyes were red and extremely puffy, her skin as pale as before. Surprising myself, I actually feel kind of bad for her. She did try to kill you, you know, A voice in my mind whispers. A voice that's not mine... It actually reminds me of... I look at Astrid, horrified at what she is possible of. She glances over at me and gives me a hopeful look.
"Astrid?" I ask quietly. I can see the joy on her face. She immediately hugs me, holding me tightly. I tense at her touch. Is this a trap? I think. I know I can't trust her anymore. There is no absolute way I can. She almost killed me. How on Earth could I trust her? Especially with my life?

Astrid:
I feel Angela's body stiffen and I try not to notice it. It's hard; we used to be the best of friends, and now she can't even hug me. However, I do understand... I did try to kill her. I mean, it wasn't me, but it was me... I don't know how to describe it. It was like I was watching through my eyes but not having control of anything. When I tried to stop myself, I made it worse. Which is why... I gulp. Which is why I almost killed Angela. I shake my head, and squeeze Angela harder. I feel her joy and love, but also her concern. Her fear. Her hatred. I feel my blood start to boil. I almost lose control, lifting my hand behind Angela's back and lighting a ball of fire in my palm. I close my eyes and breathe. In and out. In and out. I close my hand into a fist, extinguishing the fire. NO. Not today. I will not do this today.
