riley mclean sat in a table at monet's with a cup
of hot chocolate whilst scrolling through her phone. it was around 9 pm, and she was incredibly bored. hannah was working, alex was probably off with bryce and his squad, jess was probably doing some cheerleading, and riley was doing absolutely nothing.

clay jensen had noticed the girl sitting by herself and he had the feeling he should approach her. clay had shook it off and just made her way to go see hannah at the crestmont theatre. he knew that not going there would change something. he knew it would. but he walked away.

the young girl saw him about to approach her but she saw him turn the other way. it hurt a little bit riley had to admit. but she barely knew the guy. him walking away wasn't going to change anything at all. or did it?
