In the Name of God, I take thee to be my beloved wife....
In the white bridal gown,
She looked like sieved moonlight
through the leaves...To have and to hold from this day forward...
Oh how playful she was as we rowed down Venice in the gondola,
She splashing water onto me...For better...
I can never forget the glow on
her face as she kissed our child
for the first time...And for worse...
...nor can I forget her
tearful face, so agonised,
as when buried her dad...For poorer...
When she worked so hard
in secret during recession
to make ends meet...And for richer...
Or how she baked me
the most wonderful cake
on my promotion...To love and to cherish...
How we spent those eventful
passionate nights under the stars,
the Moon as our chaperone...In health...
When she helped me
so perseveringly from my immobility, when all have
lost hope...And in sickness...
When I cried after she slept
in the ward bed,
the report in my hand
screaming CANCER...Till Death do us part...
Now as I stand before her grave,
Placing her daffodils daily,
I always see her,
In the dancing swirling
Autumn leaves,
As they frisked across the river...************************************
