Author's note: The image attached at the top or wherever it may be is the doll that Hiley received as a gift. Sorry if it creeps you out.

Hello, my name is Hiley Sanders
and this my story. Brace yourself, it's quite dark. Let's start shall we.

We're back five years in the past. We see Hiley in a car with her mom as a 16 year old teenager.

I looked at the building in front of me with a lot of anxiety. Runeswood(fictional town) high school, where I'd be studying
for my senior year. My family recently moved and today was my first day. As the over thinker that I was,I started to think about all the possible scenarios that could happen to me, when my mom started talking to me.

-Hiley, she said, we're here. Time to go. Hiley? Go, or you'll be late.

-Right, I answered as I got out of the car. Thanks for giving me a ride.

-At what time am suppose to pick you up, she asked before I leave.

-Don't bother, I responded distracted, I'll figure something out. I think I'll take the bus, or I'll walk home.

-Okay, she answered then left.

I walked towards the big building in front of me. "You can do this" I told myself. A couple of minutes later I was walking in the hallway trying to find my class. My first class was ethics, which is my favourite subject, in room 1346. I had five minutes till the bell rung and I just hoped I didn't get lost. I tended to do that a lot.

Ah, there it was, room 1346. I entered hoping I wasn't late. I sat in a chair next to the window and started looking around me. I looked at the other students in silence. I was a very shy person so I normally didn't talk a lot, I was more of an observer. I could already tell who was a part of which group. The tall blonde girl at the back of the class, she was one of the popular ones. That guy over there furiously drawing or writing in a notebook was probably an artist. There was someone that catched my attention. Right in front of me, I saw a black haired and green eyed guy, wearing a leather jacket with a T-shirt that had the lyrics : " At my kitchen sink. You don't know what that means. Because a kitchen sink to you, is not a kitchen sink to me, okay friend?" from the song kitchen sink by twenty one pilots on it. Immediately, I was intrigued, by this guy. Twenty one pilots was favourite band and I loved finding people to talk about them with. Unfortunately for me, the bell rang right as was about to walk up to him and introduce myself. Well, alright then. Next time. I didn't even know his name so I decided to call him Kitchen sink guy(KSG).

I stayed after class hoping that KSG would take all his time so I could talk to him. My prayers were finally answered when he appeared next to me.

-Hey, I started, I love your shirt.

-Thanks, he replied, my sister made it for me as a gift for my birthday.

He stayed quiet for a second then spoke again.

- Do you know where it comes from, he asked smiling.

-Yeah, I said smiling back, it's a line from kitchen sink, by Twenty one pilots.

-You know them, he said surprised.

-Of course I do, I answered. They are like, my favourite band. I'm Hiley, by the way.

-Derek, he responded. Nice to find another member of the skeleton clique.

-Well, I said with a smirk, hello there. Nice to meet you, my fellow skeleton.

He started laughing. Good. I didn't have a lot of experience with guys so if I could rely on my sense of humor that was a good thing.

-Where have you been all my life, Derek joked.

- I've always been here, I replied with wit, maybe you were just not looking far enough.

We continued talking as Derek leads me to my next class. Looked like I had made a friend, yay! After school, I went home ( and yes, I did get lost a couple of times) and I find a package waiting for me in front of the door to my house. It was a little red box. There was no address on it or anything. I was a bit worried to be honest, so I brought it inside with me. Without even putting my things away, I teared apart the wrapping paper. The box was red with black dots on it. As I opened it I saw a small note falling from it. I took the note and start reading it. Here was what it said:

" I bet you think you're fine. I bet you think it's all gone, over. That it'll never happen again. You think you're safe but you're just so stupid. I'll always be here. I'm never leaving. Don't you know, that two can keep a secret if one of them is dead? I know they're one of your favourites, so here's a quote from Fall out boy for you my dear: " Be careful making wishes in the dark, dark. Can't be sure when they've hit their mark. And besides, in the meantime, I'm just dreaming of tearing you apart." You better be careful hon, you never know what's coming for you. Oh, how rude! I forgot to wish you happy birthday. I hope you like my gift."

Terrified, I put the anonymous note on the table in front of me. I was scared to see what this "gift" was. As I opened the box slowly, my heart raced through my chest. The contents of this box made me scream for a very long time. In it, there was a creepy broken ceramic doll that was covered in blood and when you pulled the string on her back she says: " Do you want to play with me? Maybe I won't have to kill you. Oh, please, play with me!" I was so terrified. I looked around me anxious that there may be someone else in the house when I was supposed to be alone at home. For a moment, I couldn't move. It was like I couldn't speak or breathe. I was petrified. When I looked at the blood on the doll, I could hardly stop myself. As a vampire ( yes I was not kidding), I just wanted to drink it, but I managed to stop myself just in time. I couldn't even begin to tell you how hard it was though. After a couple of minutes, I picked up the note and the box and I went to my room. I wanted to put it somewhere where no one, but me, would be able to find it. I searched to find the perfect hiding place. After searching for a bit, I found it. Behind my desk there was a small rectangular metal piece, a bit bigger than the box. The metal piece hid a box shaped hole that was in the wall. It was as if someone purposely made this long and large hole so that you could hide stuff in it. Perfect fit, right? I placed the box, with the note inside of it, inside my new hiding place. It would stay there until I decided what I wanted to do with it. After that, I tried to forget about it and I went back downstairs to do my homework.

At the dinner table, my mom asked me if I had a good day. Hum, what could I say? I made a friend, but I came home to find a box with a creepy note and a horrifying doll inside of it? Of course not. I just told  her about Derek and school, which wasn't that bad. We then proceeded to celebrate my birthday. I got a camera, some books, some clothes and a necklace that had a blue heart shaped pendant. Oh and not to mention the amazing chocolate cake we ate.

Laying in bed at night, I tried to stop thinking about my "welcome home gift", but it was kind of impossible. I was intrigued but scared at the same time. I just wanted to understand what it meant. Hopefully, tomorrow would be a better day.
