I ran as fast as I could to Dylan's house where he would be after school, of course. "Ding dong...Knock knock knock.....BANG BANG BANG, OPEN UP DYLAN, I KNOW YOUR IN THERE!!!" I yelled as I beat down his door. All of a sudden the door finally opened. "Can I help you?" A lady asked politely with a flushed look on her face. "Oh I'm so sorry about the interruption with the door, but is Dylan home?" I Asked nervously. "Oh no honey, not right now, he went hiking with his dad, but I could tell him you stopped by if you want me to." She said. "Oh, no thank you, I'll probably come back tomorrow or see him in school instead. Um... But are you his mom?" I questioned. "Well, yes dear, I am. Why asked?" She asked. "Oh, well just wondering that's all. Well I'll probably stop by sometime tomorrow to talk to him, bye." I said as I was leaving the door steps to walk back home. "Bye dear." She said politely as she closes the front door.
As I was walking home I tried calling Dylan, but he didn't pick up. "Wow, he must be having the time of his life with his dad." I said surprised. As I walked into my home sweet home, I seen my mom at the dinner table on the phone. " Jonathan honey, you don't have to stay another shift. We could work things out about the money. Jonathan? JONATHAN!" Mom yelled as she was on the phone. "Your dad hung up." She said to me with fear in her eyes. "What's going on with you and dad?" I asked scared. "Well, your dad and I are trying to save up for me you and him to go on a vacation, but we can't afford it now, but your dad wants us to go next weekend." She said to me. "Wait we're going on vacation? That's awesome. Hey Mom I don't mind working for this trip. I could work at Starbucks across the street from here. They're hiring." I said excited. "Oh no that's ok baby, we could come up with another scenario. Now go upstairs to your room, dinner will be done soon." She said quietly. "Mom, anything you need, I'm here for you, ok?" I said to her. "Same here sweet heart." She said back with a smile.
