- Hey! It's Savannah, and this is me saying I'll probably write these every chapter. This is only my second book and I hope you'll like what I have planned. Since it's a muggle AU, some events may be different than canon Potter. Just saying. I was also wondering if anyone's first language is Spanish, if they could do me a favor and help me when Draco and Harry eventually make it to Spain that would be great. I'm only in my third year of Spanish so help would be appreciated!! I hope this doesn't suck but if it does please tell me because I appreciate feedback. - Sav
-Harry checked the clock for what felt like the fifth time that period and sighed. It was last period on a Friday and he desperately wanted to leave. He had footie after that and as this was his first practice as Captain, his nerves were on high.
Ron, noticing his anticipation, looked quickly at the monotoned teacher and whispered a quick, "Harry mate, are you alright?"
Harry, too absorbed in his own thoughts, jumped slightly at his best friends concerned words.
"What? Oh, yeah fine." Harry said quickly.
Ron grimaced and put his hand on Harry's shoulder. "Hey, don't worry about tonight, you'll be great, you're Hogwarts Highschool's best player."
Harry pulled a small smile and nodded to Ron. Kind and brave Ron, with no worries or responsibilities. He was a brother really, his family. Without the Weasley's taking Harry under their wing, Harry didn't know where he would be. He loved them with all of his heart but lately he had just wanted to get out, to travel, to see the world. Harry's true love and passion resided with writing and football.
His plan was to play footie and receive a scholarship, then pursue Journalism. He really wanted to see the world, and it was attracting him li-
"Potter." Harry was struck out of his thoughts by a voice very close to ear. Platinum blonde hair tickled the sensitive part under his ear and made him flinch.
"Oh, someone's a jumpy one today," said the familiar drawl of the notorious Draco Malfoy, feared and lusted by many. He cared little about school yet his wit, charm, and some how genius enabled him to pass with flying colors. His papers in English somehow always were tied for best with Harry's and this fact annoyed Harry endlessly.
"Did Weaselette not charm your pants off last night or are you just scared you'll lose every game this year?"
Harry's blood ignited and his pulse picked up, "Lose? What like I have the last 3 years?" Harry bit back.
Draco simply laughed and quipped back,
"The only reason you won was because you had Allen on your team, now that he's gone you won't stand a chan- "
The blonde's words were cut short to a high and clear voice of Mr. Novak,
"Mr. Malfoy and Mr. Potter, would you care to share with the class what has got you so engrossed in conversation? Am I interrupting something important?" He said while keeping a calm face.
Mr. Novak was Hogwarts Highschool's Math teacher, he was an overall okay teacher and his composure never faltered, but Harry had always hated Arithmetic and he had it last period which dragged it on even more. His favorite subjects had always been English and Spanish. His English teacher, Mrs. McGonagall, was a woman much like Mr. Novak, who's equanimity flickered rarely. She was a hard and disciplinary woman on the outside, but one could tell when she really liked a book or had high hopes for a student. She had loved Harry since the minute she read his writing. His feelings written so beautifully on paper. His other favorite teacher was Mrs. García, the schools Spanish teacher. She was a bubbly woman who's love for the language and culture shone through. She was a "great believer in love" and once called Harry and Draco's relationship "extremely passionate." Harry was exceptionally good at Spanish and loved his teachers spirit.
Harry quickly replied to his teacher and called back a, "No, sir, sorry, Malfoy here was just bored with his dull life so he felt the need to talk to me."
Heat filled the sly grey eyes that Harry had lit so many times.
"You, an eventful life, with your cookie cutter life and girlifriend, wow I'm so jealous Potter. Please get over yourself, your ego will be the death of us all." Draco fired at Harry.
Harry opened his mouth to quarrel back but was interrupted by Mr. Novak saying in his usual drawl,
"Mr. Potter and Mr. Malfoy please return to my classroom for detention after this period please."
Once the period was over, Harry pleaded with his teacher over and over again.
"Please sir, it's our first practice and we have a game in two weeks!" Harry said, exasperated.
Mr. Novak sighed and said, "Potter, as I've told you 3 times already, I will not have this funny business in my class anymore, you both are in your final year here and are acting like children!"
All the while this was happening Draco was looking at the scene in mirth, his hair pushed back and just long enough to reach the end of his ears, past his single hoop earring on his left ear.
"Potter, we can't all accommodate to your 'busy life' can we?" Draco said a sly smirk on his face.
Mr. Novak rolled his eyes at Draco and said, "Please keep quiet will you, Mr. Malfoy, you are as just as much in the wrong."
Draco's expression fell and he sat in a desk awaiting the dentention hour with Saint Potter to be over.
Harry rubbed his temples and fell into a desk parallel to Malfoy's, annoyed and tired. Malfoy was so irritating and somehow always made Harry's resolve crumble. His effortless insults got under Harry's skin like no others could. Harry opened his Spanish textbook and shook his head as Malfoy's stupid smirk laid in the forefront of his mind.
