"Doon there among the Heather"
Doon there among the heather
You'll see a nifty sight
Just take care to make no sound
Nae good if you gie'em a fright
As the sun doth slumber
They appear from underground
And they rummage in the tussocks
And yet seldom make a sound
As quiet as a wing-ed owl
As timid as a kitten
Such adorable little beasties
One glance and you'll be smitten
One side shorter than the other
This enables them to walk
Where the land does tilt asunder
They're as stable as a rock
Large-ish ears to hear the wind blow
They ne'er miss a squeak
Tis in their best interests
Braw hearing at its peak
If you're quiet and patient
And lie there on the grass
You'll see some ting worth speakin' of
To tell yer bonnie lass
For doon among the heather-sprechs
The Haggii there do mosey
At one with nature and ever-happy
They're aw-ways aye be cosy
