Selfish :: Raegan Beast

"Camille!" I whipped my head around and saw my best friend Rylee running towards me.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked her once she reached me.

-

"Nothing, did you do the math homework? I didn't get a chance to do it last night, I had dance until 10 and then I crashed as soon as I got home."

-

"Uh yeah sure, I'll give it to you in English. What period do you have math?"

-

"Second," she replied as she stopped to tie her shoe.

-

"Okay just copy it in English 'cuz I have math third period," I said as I waited for her to finish tying her shoe. 

-

Suddenly somebody walked into me. I looked up and saw Raegan standing there with a group of his friends. Yeah, you read that right. I go to school with the Raegan Beast, big deal. I don't get why everybody loves him; I mean yeah he's "famous," but.....I don't know, all the girls here are all over him. Maybe it's just me but I don't really see why everybody treats him like royalty around here.

"Oh, sorry Camille. I didn't see you standing there," he said as he took his hat off and flipped his hair, then proceeded to put his hat back on. 

-

"Don't be, it's my fault; I should't be just standing here. Oh wait, I can because I'm in front of MY locker and this is the middle of a high school hallway," I said, frustration making itself evident in my voice.

-

"Um, okay? I'm sorry.." he said as he walked away. 

-

"Jeez, Camille! What was that all about?!" Rylee asked. "Raegan Beast just apologized to you and you were completely rude to him! What's your deal?"

-

"My deal is that I'm sick of the people around here treating him like royalty. What, just because Raegan Beast apologized to me that means that I have to be Miss Perky and Cheerful? Sike, you thought," I said.

"Okay, but aside from him being 'famous' and all that, he's totally adorable. AND he just did his famous hair flip and smiled at you, which you would have noticed if you weren't too busy telling him off!" 

-

"Ladies, get to class!" The principal, Mrs.Miller, yelled at us. 

-

"Well anyway thanks for the math homework, I'll see you in English," Rylee said, then she walked away.

I walked into homeroom and checked my name off on the 'present' list, then I took my seat and waited for the bell to ring.
