"Mira watched out!!" I shouted but it was too late.

The dark figure is already behind her.

"Shut up and stop moving." The figure hissed, while brandishing a knife at Mira's throat.

Surprised by that attitude, you listened to her command.

"You are Kurogane Kaoru I assume?" The figure asked me.

"Yes, I am. What business do you have with me?" I answered coldly.

"I am Historia Reinhart. I have a request for you."

"I will listen to it. Let the girl go first." I said, thinking of the priority of Mira.

"No. She will be the key to the fact you accept the request or not. If you don't, she dies. It is that simple."

"... Fine. Tell me the details." I asked.

Historia pushed Mira to a bed and then sat beside me. She had put on perfume, and the fragrance smells like  girls perfume.

"Formally introducing myself, I am Historia Reinhart, I am from the Royal family of Reinhart, second-in-line to the throne, the apparent heiress." Historia introduced herself.

Hearing that, I immediately bow down to her, in respect, and kneel on one knee.

"No need for the formalities, I am seeking help from you anyways." She said.

I rose up and sat down, and asked her what the request is.

"As I have heard, you defeated Crimson Battlefield and The Invisible Cutter?"

"Yes, I did."

"They are suppose to do the request for me. But, you have defeated them, you are stronger so now, I would like to ask for your help." Historia said

"It is an honour, Princess Historia!" I said.

"The request is simple. At the outskirts of the city, there have been murder. The people were killed on the street. Murder weapon, unknown. No magic traces were left. Please find the killer and apprehend him." Historia explained.

"I see. What will be the rewards? If I remember correctly, quest have rewards." I asked.

"I grant you the  Ice Magus set. The one of the highest quality. Ice Magus Kurogane Kaoru, do you accept the request?" She asked.

A contract scroll appeared in front of me, and I read through the content. It was how Historia have described it.

"I, Kurogane Kaoru, magus of storm academy, hereby accept Princess Historia's request." I said while signing the contract.

"Good. Here's a permit pass. It allows you to go into the castle through proper method." She said, while presenting me a pass.

"Thanks. Why are you so concern with the murder?" I asked. It was killing me with curiosity. Why would a princess care about the outskirts?

"My best friend lives there, and I want to protect her. You can go find her when you are there. Her name is Rain." She explained.

"Ah. Okay. Now I see the reasons." I said.

Mira, who is at the side, stared at Historia with her jaws reaching the floor.

"Another thing, Princess Historia, you could have just talk to me normally, and you did not have to talk Mira, my g-g-girlfriend as hostage. Once you have proven your identity, I will not refuse you, since you are the princess after all." I spelled it out for Historia.
