Mom was drunk
She pushed me down the stairs in our house
My knee went out for the first time
It felt like knives slicing my skin
I heard the crack as if a rubber band snapped inside my leg
Little did I know that's exactly what it did
I called a friend and went to the emergency room
Only an X-ray and the doctor said I was fine
He put me in a immobilizer for a few weeks
Mom made me say I hurt my knee in basketball
I hadn't played basketball since my best friend moved
Dad didn't change
He went to work
When he came home he would sleep and stay away from me and my mom
Mom would stay in her room watching tv constantly
I study
I work
I feed the dogs
I clean the house
I cover up holes in the walls
