Chapter 1

“ I told you dad I need to do this, I´ll call you when I land” Juliet said as she and her dad where arriving to their private part of the airport, which she thought as one of the perks of being daughter of the CEO of DELTA. “I know you’ll call but that doesn’t mean I will not miss you, I mean since Margret passed away you were the only person who could make me the lemon pound cake.” He said trying to lighten the mood after watching his daughter react towards the mention of her mother´s name. Juliet tried to smile and said “ I already gave to recipe to Nana so don’t worry your LemonOb” a term she created to name her fathers obsession with lemon pound cake “ won´t be disturbed.

They hugged and said their last goodbyes. The jet was just starting to rise when she got a message from her dad I love you, take care. He was with no doubt the most loving dad ever. Even after her mother had past away from cancer when Juliet was barely a baby he had left his grief aside to raise her up. People used to think that he was way too busy with work to raise a child by his own but he found a balance and now that she had graduated high school he understood her need to find herself letting go to the place he and her mother met, Paris.

She couldn´t be more exited but she reminded that this trip was to find herself not love. After her last boyfriend, who she encountered doing the deed with her best friend on prom night, she decided to guard her heart for she was still healing after the terrible breakup. With this thought in mind she fell asleep.

**************** 8 hours later********************************

“Miss Galdi, Miss Galdi” an urgent female voice called for her, waking her up. “Yes?” she responded with a sleepy voice. “We are about to land, buckle your seat belt please,” the flight attendant told her, leaving soon after.

The city was beautiful at sunset, there was a special glow around everything making it all seem magical. She took a picture not sure if she would ever watch a view like this again in her life.

Not long after they were landing, she took her bags and exited the jet. A beautiful red Ford was already waiting for her, a man came out the driver´s seat and helped her with all of her bags. “Where to?” He asked in a heavy Parisian accent.  “28 Rue Ampère the building next to the coffee shop; please” she responded. “Okay ma’am”

On the way to the building she saw all of the overwhelming beauty of all from the way the sky was now turning a from a range of oranges to a dark blue, to the way the people spoke to each other as if they had no care in the world. This was all every different to her life on the Upper East Side and she loved it.

They arrived and she went ahead and registers at the front desk. They told Juliet her floor number, 8, and gave her the key. She took her bags refusing the help of the building staff just asking them to open the elevator for her. The bags and boxes where so tall that they hided her face the elevator was taking way too long before she eve knew it the boxes where about to collapse but she heard the deep voice next to her telling her “Easy, dot worry I got it” She felt an instant relief of her arms when the guy took the boxes. “Thanks those were pretty close of falling,” she said. She was about to turn and face her rescuer but the again the height of the boxes where interfering. “To which floor” he asked in a now recognizable soft Parisian accent. “ “Eight” Juliet said almost too quickly that she could swear she heard a small chuckle from him.  Gosh, his was truly amazing she could only imagine how he could look!

They got to the floor and into her room he placed the bags on her bed.  She was about to thank him again when she saw his face; wow he was burning. He had a huge pair of piercing blue eyes, dark brown hair tucked under a black beanie, kissable pink lips and strong jaw which she could imagine that if he didn´t had it his looks might be too boyish but at the end they all worked to create this amazing combination of perfection. She noticed she might have been staring and she extended her arm saying “ Hi I’m Juliet, thanks for helping me out.  Are you booked in this building?” “ A pleasure helping you Juliet I’m Lucas believe me it was no problem, and yes I actually live four doors down the hallway,” he said while still holding her hand. His hand had a strong rip but was still soft and warm in the most perfect way.  “Well” he said taking his hand away from hers “ hope to see you around, I mean if you want to” the way he said the last part made Juliet´s heart melt a little. She said “Yes, definitely” he was exciting to the door when she said the last part “Sounds great, bye Juliet” he said turning around “Bye!” she said closing the door.

Wow what a start to her trip she thought as she was talking out a bathing suit out of her bag, the other bags where supposed to arrive the next day, deciding to go on the buildings pool for a while before going to sleep. How was she supposed to think of herself when she had a neighbor like that?
