The son of Poseidon yawned loudly as he woke up inside of his beachside cabin at Montauk, New York. The night before, he had returned to it from camp. This was a regular thing, so he was used to going back and forth between his newest not-so-legal 'home away from home' and his long time legal 'home'; even if it got extremely tiring.
Stretching, he reached groggily across the side of his bed to where the window was and opened the curtains. Eyes still adjusting to the sudden change in brightness, he squinted out the window.
Percy Jackson could hear, see, and feel the waves gently lapping against the shore like a big friendly dog. Percy snorted at that analogy; more like a big friendly shark.
He slid out of bed and went into the cabin's kitchenette - he needed to grab something to eat before starting his daily routine, after all. Snagging an apple and a granola bar from a bowl of snacks on the counter, he walked outside into the warm early-morning sunlight, still clad in his clothes from the previous day, which he hadn't bothered to change yet. He started to eat his granola bar while walking towards the waves, which stirred slightly in his presence.
Percy looked around and saw sea creatures coming towards where he stood - he was a bit of a celebrity among them, for on top of saving the little (and sometimes not so little) creatures daily, he also saved the entire world and was one of the few being who could actually understand and speak to them.
'Hello, everyone.' he called.
'Hello your majesty the mighty and all powerful prince Percy!!!' chimed in a small pike.
He scowled. 'I told you guys not to call me that!'
'We told you that's why we did!' the pike shot back.
Percy sighed in resignation before heading up to the cabin again, he liked talking with the fish, but they needed to take the hint - he did not want attention!!!
His breakfast finished, he opened his cabin door and headed inside, where he got dressed and took a shower. He was going into the city to buy some food today, his stache was getting low.
Once Percy looked presentable, he opened the door once more to head into the city that never sleeps.
