Perception. Chapter 1.
Delia's POV
Today is the first day of the spring semester at Gilles-Harris Prepatory Institute and I was already dreading getting up. I knew any second now is hear my mom's usual morning rant: "Cordelia Von Dean, get outbid bed, so not just start moving things around because you can, powers are not for convience. She tells me this almost every morning to I'm pretty much memorized it. I tell her using my powers make me stronger she doesn't agree.I finally got the will to roll out of bed. I walked over to my window and opened the blinds only to be met with the face of my best friend Daniel.
"Hey hot stuff wanna ride to school together?" He says leaning out if his window slightly.
"I'll go anywhere you want if you buy me coffee." I said picking out a shirt from the dresser by my window.
"Well of course! We have to keep the princess caffeinated." He laugh.I grunt and close my window. I'm not taking his crap this morning. All of a sudden a bouquet if Lillie's manifests on my bed with a note that read:
Are you about done? I'd like to pop over.It had to be from him, he is the only person I know that can do that. I concentrate really hand and open my window, the curtains swinging open and I see Danny standing there in a Guns and Roses shirt smiling, I gesture for him to come over and he hops out of his window and manifests a bridge to mine.
"Sup gorgeous?" He says pulling me in for a hug.
"Nothing Romeo" I say hugging him back. Suddenly my mom walks in."Daniel Eric Valtore, how many times have I told you not to be just popping into this house unannounced, your powers are not toys young man!"
Danny puts me infront of him and hugs my shoulders.
"Sorry Ms. D but in my defense I only manifested a ladder, I climbed through the window."
My moms eyes go wide I decided to save Danny from her, "well off to to school, bye mom!" I say pulling Danny downstairs and to his car.
Once safely in the car Danny starts laughing hysterically "Your mom sacred me! More than my parents and they are gifted royalty."
"Try living with her!" I say tying my hair back. "So how is the home life?"
"Well mom is all happy with David (he is a descendant of the God Poseidon, he can turn into any sea animal.) and Lexia is really annoying and stuck up and Marina and her like to spy on you, when you're practicing in your backyard."
"I know, they try that Siren song crap on me, but it doesn't work on me. I'm not weak willed." He says smiling.
"Yea sure you aren't! So coffee?" I say giving him the puppy dog eyes. "Sure drive thru or manifested?"
"Drive thru please!"
After our Starbucks run we get to school, I have arts and Danny has English. He walks me to class.
"Can you manifest a shortage of supplies so I don't have to go to Art?" I say glumly.
"Story stinky but my powers aren't toys." He winks and kisses my forehead "bye stinks!" "Bye poops"
I walk into Arts and take a seat in the back. This class is a gifted/normies class so I saved a seat for my friend Cassandra, she is a 17 year old normies and a 2nd year at GHPI. This school is a six year school, we graduate when we are 21 because most of us come into our powers fully by 21. I'm 20 and a fifth year. I didn't feel like making any new friends in this class so I put my head down and waited for Cassie to come over to me. I heard the seat next to me get pulled out and I picked my head up but it wasn't Cassie nervy to me, I've actually never seen the guy sitting next to me. I looked in front of me and there was Cassie looking frantically at the guy next to me. He cleared his throat and I turned towards him.
"Are you okay?"
"Yea, it's just that is Cassie's seat."
"Oh I'm sorry, well if you give me your name I'll give your pal her seat back."
"Um okay, I'm Cordelia Von Dean."
I say extending my hand to the mysterious cute boy next to me.He gabbed my hand gently pulling it towards his slightly making my sleeve roll up exposing my birthmark.
"I'm Damian Aro, nice birthmark", says tracing over the vines and moons on my arm.
I pull my arm back, "Um thanks" he stands up and trades places with Cassie. That was the weirdest thing ever, no one has just touched me like that.
