"I saw something weird the other day."

At the sound of Frisk's voice, Sans stopped pressing the buttons on the gaming controller. Frisk repeated his actions and paused the game that they were playing, deciding it was a good time as any to tell him.

Frisk laid their head back on the couch and pulled their legs up to cross them, wondering how to begin. "Mom took me into town to get me something for my birthday. We were in a store and I saw someone who looked like me through the big window." They fidgeted. "I wouldn't really think anything of it, but they were really like me, only different clothes."

"was it...? Sans' bonebrows were furrowed. "did they somehow gain a corporeal form?"

Frisk shook their head. "No, it wasn't them..."

The brown-haired child thought for a while before they said, "...I don't have control over resets anymore."

"what do you mean, kid?"

"..."

All of a sudden, Frisk said your name. "How is she? I never saw her at my party and I got her message of being sick, but I don't think that she was."

"she's fine... tibia honest, i don't think she was sick either, but you never know." Sans said apprehensively, noting that Frisk changed the topic.

Frisk giggled softly at his pun, but was quickly reminded of something. They were curious of something. "What do you think of her?"

Sans was caught off guard by their question and rubbed the back of his neck nervously, eyelights finding the ground rather interesting. Frisk did not let this go unnoticed. "You like her."

"i do..."

"What's stopping you?"

"..."

"Is it because of me, because of the resets?"

Sans doesn't answer, he's looking up at the empty space on the ceiling. "i think i messed up my chance with her. i took her out on a date for her to enjoy herself and she didn't really do that. i told her that i had a fear of attachments and that she was a very good friend."

Frisk was silent for a moment. Then, they punched Sans lightly on the arm. "Sans, you big bonehead! What are you still doing then?"

Sans raised a bonebrow. "what are you talking about, kid?"

"Go after her before someone else does! Who knows who she's going to be with if you're not the one!"

"...did you not hear me? i think i messed it up."

"You thinking is not the same as what she feels and you don't know how she feels! You don't have a fear of attachments. You have a fear of people forgetting you once a reset hits. Sans, take a chance."

You savoured the taste of the delicious chocolate cake in your mouth, wishing it lasted a little longer. You also wished that your break would last a little longer. Looking at your phone, you realized that you had 10 minutes left for it. The cake before you was almost gone, only some frosting and little pieces of crumbs left. As the entrance to the coffee shop opened, your eyes caught sight of Frisk. You stood up and brushed yourself off. Then, you made your way to them in hopes of talking to them.

"Frisk, hey!"

The kid turned their attention to you and had a look of confusion on their face. "How'd you know my name? I...I don't know you..."

"Huh? We've met."

When they didn't show any sign of recognition, you elaborated. "Remember the time when I called Papyrus, but it was you who answered? I called him to pick up Sans because he was drunk."
