I had been thrown into a room. It was dark but I could faintly make out what was in the room. There was wallpaper that had flowers sprawled along it making it look antique. There were no windows in the room that I could find.  The floor had light brown carpet along it. I turned around, smiling when I saw a door. I walked to it, extending my arms to lean against the door, hugging it.

"I can't wait for this to be over." I mumbled to myself. I lowered my hand and put it on the doorknob. Turning the knob, I huffed in frustration. It wasn't turning; it must be locked. I smacked my head against the door. Damn it, should've know my kidnappers would lock the door.

I slid down the door, my back getting scratched since the door had splinters sticking out of it. I put my head in my hands, breathing in and out deeply, trying to calm myself. I looked up, noticing light in the corner of the room. Following the beam, I got up and walked towards an old dusty cupboard. The light was coming from underneath it. Using all the strength I could muster up, I pushed the cupboard to the side.

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Stood before me was a huge room. The first thing I noticed was a window in the middle of the wall in front of me. I ran to it, attempting to open it. Unfortunately, it was locked. I sighed, looking around the room. Seeing something sparkle, I jogged to it, snatching it up; it was a pocket knife. Returning back to the window, I fiddled with the lock until it broke. I pushed out the window, only to see that I was at least two storeys up.

Quickly thinking of the kind of injuries I would most likely receive; a broken leg and possibly a few broke ribs. I inhaled deeply before climbing over the window sill. Looking down at the ground, I mumbled reassurance to myself before pushing myself off the sill. Feeling the wind in my hair, I closed my eyes preparing for my impact with the ground.

After waiting about ten seconds, I opened my eyes, only to realise I was on the ground without a scratch. I glanced around in confusion, looking up at where I had just jumped from. I should've had injuries from jumping that high. So, why wasn't I hurt?
