They left it open again..I sigh, looking towards a window on a tall building. It seems to be a hospital; agh- Kanji really is hard to read from a distance. Squinting my eyes, i found smaller fonts written across the faraway facility.
Yurisaki Hospital
I glance over to my twin sister.
"Something wrong?" She somewhat yells; the wind blowing rather harshly through her ginger hair as we stood up on the rooftops of houses.
Huh? Oh.
I point to the open window, "They left it open again-- this is the tenth time we passed here today."
Claire looks at me, tilting her head a little. "Don't you suppose they left it open on purpose?"
"Huh. The wind is super strong today though, aren't they cold?"
"Worried much?"
Heh.
I stare at Claire. She stares back.
Eventually, she lets out a sigh while shaking her head as she chuckles."Jack.. You really are a softie." Chuckling along, I put my hands into the pockets of my jacket. Although we weren't humans anymore, we apparently still get cold.
"Hmm.. From what I recall, the patient there is.. Rui Yurisaki-"
"Yurisaki? Does she own the place?"
"-Daughter of the owners of the place." She concentrates once more, trying to remember. Claire sighs deeply, her brows knit together.
"Poor girl."
"She's been diagnosed with Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction ever since she was only eight. She's now fourteen. A year younger than us."
My younger twin nods. "She'd probably want to close that window. Can you?"
"Wanna bet on it?" I scoff, summoning purple flame-clad butterflies with a flick of a wrist.
The fly gracefully towards the hospital, their half transparent wings carrying them even when the wind blows against them.
From outside, their fluttering wings begin to leave behind sparks of fire. Its magic pushes the glass down, and locks it.
Its job is done.
The small insects softly dissipates, their wings leaving behind traces of purple as it gets blown away by the wind. And just like that, they're gone.
And so are we.
