Prologue

It all began with blood.

Did you know that the average adult has five liters of blood coursing through their vessels, delivering essential elements, and removing harmful wastes?

Without blood, the human body would stop working.

Without me, Estonovia, my homeland, would fall into the wrong hands and it could stop working, Living.

The blood that courses through my veins is not that of an average human. It has, a trait that many would kill for and many would die without it.

And through this story, our history shall be made.

I hope I live long enough to see it.

Chapter One

“ Alex! Alex! Get up! We have to go to church!”

I roll over my bed, still half asleep. I open my eyes half way and see my Mom standing at the foot of my bed.

“Alex! I swear if you don’t get up this instant I will throw an ice bucket over your body!”

My mother just loves me so much she would go through all that trouble to find a bucket of ice.

Here in Phoenix, Arizona where the temperature during the  summer is typically over 100 °F, throwing ice at me would be a relief.

“ALEX!”

I get up “All right already. Sheesh, Mom. Can I brush my teeth first or are you going to make me go to church looking like a zombie?” I don’t wait for an answer and began the walk to the bathroom across the hall.

“Hey, drop the attitude and just hurry will you? Also, bring a hand fan. The heat is a killer!”

I nod. I had five hand fans in my drawer, waiting to be used as a mosquito swatter and to circulate very little oxygen in a crowded church.

I shower. The cold water jolts me awake. I close my eyes and try to relax myself.

Peace however, is rare in a household of six people.

"Alex, I really need to pee!" my younger brother, Max yelled through the door.

"Use the other bathroom!" I yelled back. The other bathroom is located at our parent's room.

"I can't Dad's taking a bath! Please Alex, I'm gonna burst!"

"All right, I'm coming" I quickly wrap a towel around my body and open the door.

Max, age 8, looked very adorable with his blond hair and blue eyes. He is an exact replica of my Mother.

"Thanks Alex! I love you!" he said and quickly ran to the toilet.

"Whatever kiddo, see you at church."

I return to my room. The good thing about being the eldest child is you get everything first; you're the only one with your own bedroom, you'll finish every grade first, you don't have to wear hand me downs and more.

I glanced at my reflection in the mirror and it glanced back at me.

My skin is soft. . ivory. My red curly hair is in a good mood today. But what people notice most is my eyes, which is as green as an emerald.

This fact, however, use to bother the hell out of me.

Both of my parents have blue eyes. My Mother is blond and my father has brown hair. None of my siblings have the same traits like I do; Max is the spiliting image of my Mom; Lexi,13, was a girl version of Dad and then there's seven year old Clara who also looks like my Mother.
