The sun pored through the curtains of Asahis bedroom, it was 12:00 am on a Saturday. They'd both agreed to spend most of the day together considering Nishinoya was already at his house anyways.
It was strange, almost like magic that Nishinoya showed absolutely no signs of last nights sickness.
Asahi was in the kitchen pouring himself a glass of orange juice when small footsteps were heard behind him. He turned his head to see Nishinoya, hands stretched above his head in a yawn, a bit of his shirt lifting up to show off some of the pale skin of his stomach.
Asahi stared at him in awe, this was a sight he'd never seen before. The orange glow on his skin made him look like an unearthly being, an angel sent from the gods.
This blissful moment only lasted a couple seconds however, much to Asahis dismay. The only proof it actually happened being the red tint on his cheeks.
"...are you uh..feeling any better?"
Nishinoya looked at him with wide eyes, and then smiled "yup! I think you nursed me back to health Asahi-san!"
How? He hadn't done anything. The only thing he did was put him to bed, he didn't make him food, or give him medicine.
"Hey, Noya...do you have a sickness? You had to leave practice early the other day so...I thought..maybe...."
The two stared at each other for a moment, until Asahi directed his gaze to the floor, he probably shouldn't have asked that. It wasn't any of his business anyways. Maybe he should apologize-
"No!"
Asahi jumped a bit at the sudden exclamation.
It seemed that Nishinoya was also taken aback by how loud he was because his face turned a deep shade of red and he started apologizing.
"Wait! No! I mean....yeah I was sick, b-but only a temporary,normal, everyday sickness! L-like a cold! Or...something like that...nothing else!"
Now Asahi was a little worried, why did Noya have to try and convince him it was just an average cold? He decided to brush it off because it seemed like Noya was uncomfortable with the topic.
"Asahi, can we stay here today? We could watch movies, or play games, and eat snacks!"
Asahi nodded his head vigorously, a whole day, alone, with his crush, in his house. He was suddenly crushed by an almost overwhelming wave of nerves. Because he was going to be alone, with his crush, in his house, all day.
It was around 12:00 when they finished eating and getting into their comfiest clothes, Asahi almost had a heart attack when he saw Noya in one of his shirts, void of pants because the shirt was long enough to go a little ways above his knees.
Asahi returned to the couch, setting the big bowl of popcorn on the black coffee table across from them. He avoided looking at Noya, he still wasn't ready to handle the boyfriend shirt (how he wished he could properly call it that). It made his mind go down the blissful, yet painful tunnel that was wondering what it'd be like if he confessed to Noya and they were happily in love. returning his focus to the scene in front of him, he finally sat down on the couch. he had situated himself on the left side leaning against the back, Noya who was on his right prior to him sitting down scooted quickly over to his side snuggling against his armwhat.
it took a second for things to process in his mind but when they did, he flipped the fuck out. his crush, no, more than that, was snuggling up against his side and he didn't ask or use an excuse like 'im cold' or anything, which meant that he wanted to. and after that realization hit, Asahi was redder than a ripe tomato. his shoulders tensed, and then he forced himself to relax because if he ruined this once in a lifetime chance because Noya thought Asahi didn't like the physical contact he would never forgive himself.
"uhm, Asahi-san?"
crap maybe he noticed it and will move apologizing for invading his pri-
"are you gonna start the movie?"
oh
"yeah, uh, sorry I was, thinking."
Noya tilted his gaze up to Asahi's face "what 'bout?"
Asahi turned his face away to hide his still heated cheeks "no, nothing you need to worry about, it wasn't important"
for a second there was silence, Asahi was worried maybe Noya would press him for answers and he'd have to make up same lame excuse but thankfully a moment later Noya hummed "hmmmm, okay. But common! the popcorns gonna get cold if you don't start the movie!"
leaning forward to grab the remote, he pressed play. about 10 minutes in he finally relaxed more into the couch and allowed Noya more room to move in closer, which is exactly what he did.
the whole day he wasn't focused on the movie, but about his new found hope of maybe, just maybe being promoted to best bearded boyfriend instead.
