The stale smelling breeze wafted towards me and, despite the unpleasantness of the smell,

breathed it in. My father always said that air is air. Something you shouldn't waste out on.

Because at any moment you could end up dead. I know because I've met plenty of dead

people. And no, I don't mean their bodies or whatever. I mean that I've actually met the dead.

Their souls to be exact. Maybe a bit of an introduction is needed at this point. My father is the

grim reaper. And I am his daughter. My name is Seiko Reaper. I know that my last name is a

bit traditional and old. But the name has been in my family for centuries. My mother, before

she died, always thought that the name Reaper was a bit much. A tad dramatic. She never

voiced her thoughts out loud to my father, but sometimes I got the impression that he knew.

That he always knew. My brother and sister seemed to think the same thing, because they

would occasionally ask father what mother was thinking. The answer was always the same,

"Why don't you ask her?" They never did of course. Not even I, who was more curious then

the others, would ask. As we grew alder and my mother died, the thought of father being a

mind reader eventually died out. We were too old for us to be thinking childish things such as

that. We were way past that age. Of course, we still talk to mother every so often. Or we talk

to her soul I mean.Even in death mother still watches over us and tries to act like the mother

she was in life. But for some reason she has been seeming to drift apart from us. She doesn't

visit us as often any more now that we are older and in less need of her. She seems to attach

herself closer to the truth that she can't be with us all the time. Sooner or later the Reaper

children will go up to the Above world. This is a tradition among the Reaper family. If there is

more then one Reaper child, then the the youngest children go up to the Above world when

they are old enough to live out their lives, while the oldest child stays behind in the Under

world to take over when the current Reaper dies. When The oldest child dies, the next oldest

child takes over, and so on. Any way, I just happen to be the youngest child in the family. And

I was soon to go to the Above World.
